In 2017 Sierra Construction implemented Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise as its ERP Financial system to centralize corporate accounting and procurement ledgers. The deployment positioned Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise as the primary record for invoicing and accounts payable while supporting purchase order processing and supply restocking workflows.
Configuration focused on core financial modules, including accounts payable, invoicing, purchase order management, basic inventory tracking for construction supplies, and reporting and analytics driven by updated spreadsheets and databases. The team used the application to capture supplier invoices, record incoming shipments, and maintain a centralized document filing system that contained financial records, a staff directory, and the company policy handbook for the human resources department.
Operational coverage for the Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise deployment included finance, procurement, administrative office functions, and HR record keeping at the corporate level in Canada. Bookkeeping activities were coordinated between Intuit Quickbooks Enterprise and Lawson, with financial entries and accounts payable workflows reconciled across both systems to support end to end cash and vendor management processes.
Governance emphasized standardized purchase order and accounts payable workflows, a formal record filing approach to improve document organization, and role aligned responsibilities for bookkeeping and vendor interactions. Spreadsheets and databases were retained as complementary reporting layers to analyze performance and sales data while Quickbooks served as the authoritative ERP Financial ledger for day to day transaction processing.

In 2016, Sierra Construction implemented Viewpoint Vista Time and Attendance as part of a broader Viewpoint Vista ERP deployment to centralize financials and project controls across its Ontario operations. The implementation targeted Canada operations and was intended to consolidate job-cost visibility and reduce paper-based processes.
Viewpoint Vista Time and Attendance was deployed alongside core Vista finance and project controls modules, providing standard Time and Attendance capabilities such as electronic time capture, crew hours tracking and labor-to-job costing linkage. Configuration emphasized linking field labor records directly into project cost structures and supporting payroll processing workflows within the Vista environment.
Operational scope focused on Ontario field sites, project managers, finance teams and project controls functions, shifting paper timecards to centralized electronic time data. Governance changes concentrated on consolidating time approval workflows with finance and project controls, which aligned timekeeping data with job-cost reporting and reduced reliance on manual paper processes in Canada.

In 2015 Sierra Construction implemented Viewpoint Vista as its Construction ERP application to unify project accounting and project management for its Woodstock Ontario based Sierra Infrastructure division. The deployment focused on the Viewpoint Vista project management and financial modules, bringing a single Construction ERP platform into estimating, job costing, procurement, and project level invoice control.
Viewpoint Vista was configured to centralize digital versions of all invoices by project and to support detailed job costing that breaks costs into labor classifications, equipment, and material inputs. The implementation emphasized finance and project management workflows, enabling project managers to access a central location for invoice approvals and allowing cost allocations to be applied to specific job inputs rather than pooled overhead.
Operational integration linked the Vista project and financial environment with the companys estimating practice, which had evolved from Excel based estimating to Bid2Win now known as B2W. That integration connected estimator inputs for labor classes, machine costs, and bid line items with project ledgers in Viewpoint Vista, enabling drill down into actual cost components and supporting forensic accounting of job costs.
Governance and process change centered on tighter allocation controls and approval workflows, shifting costs that previously flowed into undifferentiated overhead into discrete job level inputs. According to Mike Zaluski Sierra Constructions general manager of Sierra Infrastructure the company began to get a handle on its true costs and can now drill down into the exact costs of labor and equipment, a capability that improved the accuracy of job costing and corrected prior allocation gaps such as undirected fuel expense.
