In 2021, SIG plc deployed QlikView as its enterprise Analytics and BI platform. The implementation targeted cross-functional reporting across manufacturing operations, finance and commercial teams and leveraged the existing technology stack including Kerridge K8, MS SQL Server, Exchange, ViaDuct, Visual Studio 2012, MS Office 2003/2007/2010 and Adobe Acrobat DC.
The project focused on QlikView document development, consolidated data modeling and centralized QlikView Server hosting to deliver interactive dashboards, ad hoc analysis and scheduled report distribution. Development and extension work used Visual Studio 2012 for custom ETL and scripting, while ViaDuct was used to orchestrate data flows and reload processes.
Integrations were implemented as direct extracts from Kerridge K8 into MS SQL Server staging databases, with QlikView consuming staged data via native connectors and ODBC data sources. Exchange was used for automated distribution of QlikView reports, and MS Office integration enabled exportable analysis and operational reporting for downstream users.
Governance established a central BI team to manage document lifecycle, data model versioning and user access, with security enforced through QlikView user roles and SQL Server authentication. Rollout followed a phased publication model and scheduled reload governance across SIG plc operations in the United Kingdom.
