In 2023, Sky Deutschland implemented Paxton Access Net2 Timesheet at its Customer Service Centre in Teltow, Germany. The deployment used Paxton Access Net2 Timesheet as a Time Clock (Hardware) solution to combine time and attendance capture with networked door access control for over 400 onsite staff.
The installation comprised Paxton Net2 Pro software paired with Net2 plus door control units using PoE and P50 readers to govern 15 external and internal doors. Functional capabilities configured include time stamping for shift start and end, visitor access provisioning, roll call for evacuation, and centralized access permission management through the Net2 user interface.
Operational integration is explicit, SAP SE consumes live Net2 data once a day to support payroll and broader business operations, making the Paxton Access Net2 Timesheet deployment an operational source for HR and payroll systems. The system runs on networked door controllers, leveraging PoE to minimize additional wiring and to integrate door hardware with the site's existing network infrastructure.
Governance and process changes focused on centralizing administration and simplifying daily management of staff movement and visitor access, with administrators using the license free Net2 interface to update individual permissions and manage shift patterns. Sky documented plans to extend Net2 integration to intruder alarm systems and the underground carpark, indicating an intention to broaden building management workflows around the same access control and timekeeping platform.
Results reported by Sky include control of staff and visitor areas, roll call capability for site evacuation, and time tracking integrated with payroll via live Net2 data processed daily. IT Support Coordinator James Bergmann said data accuracy has improved and payroll administration has been significantly streamlined, reflecting the system's role across timekeeping and access control.
