In 2018, Societe Generale Senegal deployed PCI SimplyDesk SimplyAsset as a computer asset management and equipment inventory solution. The implementation targeted Hardware Asset Management (HAM),Software Asset Management (SAM),IT Asset Management (ITAM),SaaS Spend Management capabilities to centralize hardware and software inventory, lifecycle records and administrative workflows.
The deployment, executed under the Network and Systems Infrastructure Manager in Dakar, Senegal from October 2018 to July 2019, configured PCI SimplyDesk SimplyAsset to inventory endpoints, ATMs and network equipment, and to record decommissioning activities including degaussing of hard disks. Functional modules implemented included equipment inventory, mobile messaging management for Blackberry devices, IP telephony management covering modification, addition and deletion workflows, and automated image deployment for ATMs.
Integrations and operational controls were implemented with Active Directory for user lifecycle management, covering configuration, addition, modification and deletion of users, together with a Powershell script to extract active accounts for audit and authorization review. The program also included server access reviews and network administration tasks such as device configuration, aligning asset records with ongoing infrastructure change activities.
Governance and operations were structured around change control for telephony and ATM image updates, periodic authorization reviews in Active Directory and tiered support across Support 1, 2 and 3 teams. PCI SimplyDesk SimplyAsset served as the central ITAM instance to orchestrate asset records, administrative workflows and decommissioning processes across IT operations in Dakar.
