Exela Technologies Legacy Exela Lockbox AR Automation ERP n/a 2007 2007
In 2007, Southwest Gas Corporation implemented Exela Lockbox from vendor Exela Technologies as an AR Automation solution to centralize high volume payment processing for its utility customer base. The Exela Lockbox deployment supported lockbox receipt handling for approximately 1.8 million commercial and residential customers across Arizona, Nevada and California, positioning Exela Lockbox as the company’s AR Automation platform. Configuration centered on standard lockbox and accounts receivable capabilities including high volume document imaging, automated remittance capture, payment posting, exception handling and reconciliation workflows. The implementation incorporated imaging and data extraction modules, payment processing engines, reconciliation routines and reporting to support cash application and accounts receivable operations. Operational scope focused on finance and treasury functions to streamline cash application and billing reconciliation across Southwest Gas operations in Arizona Nevada and California. Day to day workflows emphasized centralized processing, exception escalation, and periodic reporting to billing and customer service teams to reduce manual intervention in AR Automation processes. Company communications from the deployment period reported improved performance, reliability and cost effectiveness from the payment processing solution, reflecting enhanced processing throughput and operational stability. Governance retained finance ownership of AR Automation processes, with configuration and workflow orchestration aligned to utility billing cycles and remittance windows.

Hitachi Vantara Legacy Hitachi Ventyx Service Suite Field Service Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2015 2015
In 2015, Southwest Gas Corporation implemented Hitachi Ventyx Service Suite for Field Service Management across its Natural Gas Business Unit. The rollout covered 21 resource centers across three states and supported approximately 1,200 back office and mobile users, of which 800 had no prior mobile computing experience. The deployment was executed as part of the utility's OASIS Program where Utilligent initially led and supported project activities. Hitachi Ventyx Service Suite was configured to deliver Field Service Management capabilities including work order management, mobile workforce enablement, asset context for field crews, and crew scheduling aligned to utility operational workflows. Configuration work emphasized mobile client provisioning, offline synchronization and role based access to accommodate users with limited mobile experience. Testing included field acceptance scenarios and end to end validation of dispatch to close workflows. Configured, integrated, tested and deployed integrations included CGI ARM Suite for enterprise financial and customer data, GE SmallWorld modules GDO, GTO, Design Manager and Fieldsmart for GIS and design data, and ABB Service Suite for complementary service operations. These integrations provided the data flows required for asset context, design to field work packets and service order financial reconciliation. The integration architecture supported both back office systems and mobile endpoints across the Natural Gas Business Unit. In the final phase Utilligent replaced the incumbent system integrator and co leading teams with Southwest Gas Corporation leadership, instituting an Agile delivery model that removed hierarchy and enabled cross functional teams. Governance shifted to iterative sprints, integrated testing cycles and direct utility ownership of backlog and acceptance criteria. The joint team successfully completed and deployed the OASIS solution using Hitachi Ventyx Service Suite across the Natural Gas Business Unit on time and on budget. The implementation established a Field Service Management backbone for downstream operations and mobile workforce enablement within the utility.
