SpaceX Technographics, Software Purchases, AI and Digital Transformation Initiatives
Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by SpaceX and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 13000 SpaceX employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that SpaceX has purchased the following applications: Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations for ERP Financial in 2017, UKG Pro Payroll (ex Ultipro Payroll) for Payroll in 2014, Dassault DELMIA Apriso for Manufacturing Execution System in 2012 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems SpaceX is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with Microsoft , UKG , Dassault Systemes or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing SpaceX revenues, which have grown to $4.60 billion in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for SpaceX intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

| Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics AX | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017 SpaceX implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its core ERP Financial system, replacing Microsoft Dynamics AX. The Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations deployment was positioned to consolidate the company financial platform and to support Finance and Accounting business functions across the organization.
The implementation concentrated on standard ERP Financial modules, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, cash management, budgeting, and project accounting. Configuration work emphasized chart of accounts standardization, multicurrency and statutory reporting frameworks, automated voucher and invoice posting workflows, and orchestration of period close processes to align financial operations.
Migration activity included extraction and conversion of master data and transactional history from Microsoft Dynamics AX into Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to preserve continuity of accounting records. The solution was deployed on Microsoft cloud infrastructure, and the deployment scope addressed corporate finance, accounting operations, treasury handling, and program finance use cases within SpaceX finance organization.
Governance for the program established a centralized finance systems team, role based security and change control procedures for configuration updates, formal user acceptance testing gates, and staged rollout sequencing to manage configuration, data migration, and cutover risk. The narrative centers on SpaceX Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations ERP Financial implementation supporting finance and accounting processes.

| UKG | Legacy | UKG Pro Payroll (ex Ultipro Payroll) | Payroll | HCM | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014 SpaceX implemented UKG Pro Payroll (ex Ultipro Payroll) to centralize Payroll processing and compliance across its workforce. The deployment supported payroll operations for more than 6,000 employees across 20 states while accommodating an average of 50 new hires each bi-weekly pay period.
The implementation encompassed core payroll calculation, tax withholding and reporting workflows, year-end W-2 and W-2C processing, and payroll accounting close activities. Configuration leveraged the application reporting capabilities alongside Microsoft Excel for internal reporting and included support for large dollar stock transaction processing through payroll.
UKG Pro Payroll (ex Ultipro Payroll) was integrated with Workday to ingest HR master data and benefits feeds, enabling automated synchronization of employee records and benefit deductions. The payroll environment also incorporated an Ultimate timekeeping solution with 120 time clocks deployed across sites, and a concurrent transition of expense reporting from paper to an online processing tool.
Operational governance established routine internal audits of pay records and tax information, reconciliations for accounting close, and compliance monitoring for federal, state, and local requirements. The Senior Payroll Manager led team development, day to day operations oversight, and restructured payroll workflows to support year-end processing, employee pay inquiry resolution, and ongoing payroll administration.

| Dassault Systemes | Legacy | Dassault DELMIA Apriso | Manufacturing Execution System | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2012 | 2012 |
In 2012, SpaceX implemented Dassault DELMIA Apriso as a Manufacturing Execution System. The deployment targeted manufacturing and warehouse operations across Hawthorne, Vandenberg AFB, Cape Canaveral, and McGregor Texas, with Dassault DELMIA Apriso positioned as the barcode scanning and execution layer supporting production and fulfillment workflows. SpaceX Dassault DELMIA Apriso Manufacturing Execution System for supply chain operations centralized transaction capture and shop floor visibility for operations teams.
Configuration emphasized transactional capture, shop floor execution, and barcode scanning workflows within Dassault DELMIA Apriso. Functional capabilities documented include daily transaction monitoring, cycle count support, inventory accuracy tracking, pick pack ship process flows, and interaction with Vertical Lift Machine controls. Reporting and KPI instrumentation were implemented using Microsoft SQL Server 2012, PostgreSQL, and Tableau for metric design and visualization.
Integrations linked Dassault DELMIA Apriso to the enterprise ERP system and to VLM systems, with Apriso serving as the scanning front end for warehouse transactions. Daily monitoring of transactions spanned all listed sites and supported consistent inventory and fulfillment processes across locations. The implementation used event driven transaction feeds between Apriso and the ERP for reconciliation and discrepancy detection.
Governance centered on a Supply Chain Systems Analyst role that monitored daily transactions, addressed discrepancies, and created, developed, implemented, and maintained KPIs and metrics for cycle counts, inventory accuracy, and process flow. Operational ownership resided within supply chain and warehouse operations, with structured workflows for discrepancy resolution and ongoing metric maintenance documented by internal teams.
