In 2022, SSI Securities Corporation implemented Microsoft Power BI as part of a broader Analytics and BI initiative spanning Microsoft 365, Dynamics 365, and Azure. The deployment was positioned within a company-wide digital transformation effort at the 3,000 employee brokerage, where approximately 1,500 staff had already adopted Microsoft 365 for remote collaboration and document management.
Microsoft Power BI was used to centralize reporting and deliver interactive dashboards, real-time analytics, and operational scorecards for transactional teams. The implementation surfaced aggregated customer purchases and transaction histories into actionable visualizations, with Power BI reports designed to present individual investor profiles and portfolio activity for front-line staff and contact center agents.
The Power BI implementation was integrated directly with Dynamics 365 Customer Service, which aggregates customer records for more than 300,000 clients, and with the firm s core systems and third-party applications. KPMG served as the technology partner on the project, helping to configure data flows into an Azure-based analytics platform and to orchestrate the push of CRM-derived insights into Microsoft Power BI.
Governance and security were enforced through Microsoft 365 Defender and built-in Microsoft controls, with a multi-tier internal censorship model that restricts access to high-level documents to specific networks. Operational rollout focused on enabling transactional staff with real-time information, while parallel front-end improvements included a user-facing e-portal and mobile trading application to support customer engagement.
The combined architecture of Dynamics 365, Azure infrastructure, and Microsoft Power BI enabled SSI to consolidate scattered records, support remote work, and provide timely analytics to sales and service functions. Reported outcomes from the program include improved customer experience, higher customer satisfaction and loyalty, and increased sales, and the company plans to extend CRM and analytics coverage into its investment banking business.
