OCLC Legacy OCLC Bibliotheca Library Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2008 2009
In 2008 St Louis County Library District implemented OCLC Bibliotheca as a Library Management deployment to supply RFID self-check kiosks, staff stations and security gates. The Missouri, USA project initiated a phased rollout, completing Phase 1 in early 2009 to address increasing circulation demand and improve inventory security. The implementation centered on RFID-enabled self-service and staffed circulation workflows, deploying OCLC Bibliotheca kiosks for patron checkout and return, dedicated staff stations for circulation processing, and security gates for inventory control. Configuration work focused on embedding RFID read and write functions into front-line workflows, adjusting staff workstation interfaces to support higher throughput, and establishing gate-based alerting for inventory security. Operationally the project targeted circulation and self-service functions across the district in Missouri, improving the ability to handle higher usage while reducing staff burden. Phase 1 delivery of OCLC Bibliotheca established the initial automated circulation layer and security posture, positioning the library to scale self-service and inventory control in subsequent rollouts.
