| StarRez | Legacy | StarRez Platform | Real Estate Property Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013 St Pauls College deployed the StarRez Platform as its primary Real Estate Property Management application. The college is a not for profit residential academic community within the University of Sydney and used StarRez Platform to manage accommodation workflows and financial operations for undergraduate and postgraduate residents.
The deployment concentrated on accommodation management, event and stays billing, debtor and creditor processing, and end to end payroll processing, aligning with Real Estate Property Management capabilities such as reservation management, billing and payments, and reporting. Configuration work included end of day session processing in StarRez, refinement of monthly journals and prepayment and accrual procedures, and targeted fixes to GST coding that impacted both revenue and purchase postings.
Operational integration executed by college finance staff tied StarRez to an RMS system and to MYOB for financial posting, with routine processing of end of day sessions in StarRez and RMS and importing transactional files into MYOB. Reconciliations were performed between StarRez and RMS to align closing and opening balances, and the platform supported finance, events and stays, payroll, scholarship accounting, and the St Pauls College Foundation accounting workflows.
Governance and process restructuring accompanied the implementation, including building standardized balance sheet reconciliation templates, streamlining monthly journal calculations for board reporting, and tightening debtor management through introduction of a cashless environment and conversion of cheque payments to EFT. Documented outcomes include correction of historical GST miscodes, clearing prior period outstanding transactions, reconciliation of intercompany loan accounts, and the establishment of consistent month end reporting used in Finance Committee and Council packs.
