In 2014, Stamps.com implemented Oracle NetSuite ERP as its ERP Financial platform to centralize finance, accounting and operations processes. The deployment focused on establishing a single financial system to support standardized reporting and formal month end close workflows across the business functions of Finance, Accounting and Operations.
Oracle NetSuite ERP was configured to deliver financial reporting for key metrics and analysis of financial results, accounts receivable management, fixed assets, liabilities and revenue account structures, and structured month end close procedures. The implementation included dedicated configuration for partner revenue share programs to perform monthly reconciliations and calculate amounts payable to partners, and to support the rollout of new partner programs within NetSuite.
Operational workstreams emphasized process design and automation, teams designed optimal procedures and created NetSuite workflows to automate reconciliations, approvals and close activities. Data and procedural migration from Quickbook to Oracle NetSuite ERP was executed to consolidate transactional records and established operational procedures in the new system.
Governance included user training, an auditing process to validate adherence to configured workflows, and monthly operational reviews during month end to ensure books are closed in accordance with the new controls. The implementation tied Oracle NetSuite ERP workflow automation and audit trail capabilities directly to Finance and Accounting operations to enforce control and repeatable processes.
