Starbucks China selected and deployed Shiji Infrasys Cloud POS in 2017 to replace a legacy POS system, standardizing Point Of Sale software across its China footprint. The engagement began in August 2017 and targeted the company’s retail estate nationwide, covering more than 3,000 stores as part of a program that spans over 3,600 stores across 150 cities.
Shiji’s POS product support team executed large-scale software upgrades, inspections and installations: they completed upgrades for POS systems in 3,200 stores, inspected and installed systems in 2,100 stores, and logged resolution of more than 30,000 issues while providing all-weather technical support at headquarters and individual store locations. The deployment emphasized operational continuity—support teams increased morning and evening shifts and applied process optimizations to limit store downtime during cutover.
The implementation concentrated on rolling out the Infrasys POS cloud application and on-site technical support at scale; the upgraded system is reported to be running smoothly and the program focused on minimizing disruption to staff and customers while consolidating POS operations onto the cloud-based Infrasys platform.
