In 2019 Marriott Australia upgraded the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park with Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Building, deploying Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Building as a Building Management System to modernize HVAC, lighting and energy controls for a hospitality environment in Sydney, Australia. The implementation focused on retrofitting control hardware and centralizing operational control for a single hotel site, with explicit scope on guest services infrastructure and back of house facilities.
The deployment concentrated on core Building Management System capabilities, including centralized HVAC control, lighting control and energy management, with via system level scheduling and automated control logic aligned to hospitality operating hours. Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Building was configured to provide remote access and energy reporting capabilities for facilities staff, enabling operational monitoring and setpoint management across mechanical and electrical plant.
Operational coverage was the Sheraton Grand Sydney Hyde Park property and the facilities and operations teams responsible for site performance, maintenance and energy oversight. The retrofit integrated existing building assets into the EcoStruxure Building environment and instrumented energy reporting workflows so operations teams could access data remotely and adjust building control strategies from a central console.
According to Schneider Electric communications the retrofit produced double digit energy savings and the hotel reported approximately 15% reduction in its first month energy bill, while also improving remote access and energy reporting for facilities and operations teams. These outcomes reflect the implemented Schneider Electric EcoStruxure Building Building Management System delivering measurable operational visibility and energy control at the property level.

| Akamai | Legacy | Akamai CDN | Content Delivery Network | IaaS | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014 Marriott Australia implemented Akamai CDN as its Content Delivery Network for the Marriott Australia public website. The deployment configured Akamai CDN edge caching to deliver static assets and accelerate HTTPS content using origin pull from Marriott web servers. Configuration work included caching rules, TTL management, cache invalidation workflows, and use of the Akamai control center for centralized configuration and log access. The implementation focused on customer facing web pages served from the Marriott Australia site.
Operational ownership sat with corporate web operations and security teams who managed DNS CNAME routing, certificate provisioning, and cache purging procedures. Rollout proceeded as a phased cutover of hostnames and asset paths to Akamai, with governance established around change control and content invalidation processes. The work reflects standard Content Delivery Network functional modules including edge delivery, caching policy enforcement, and centralized configuration management through the Akamai platform.
