The deployment targeted agency human resources and payroll operations, positioning the SAP Absence and Leave Management by WorkForce Software application as the authoritative system for recording paid time off and approved leave across the Office of State Controller. The implementation configured core Absence and Leave Management capabilities common to the category, including employee absence recording, configurable leave type definitions, accrual calculations, automated approval workflows, and leave balance visibility for HR users. SAP Absence and Leave Management by WorkForce Software was configured to support business process automation around leave requests and approvals, and to provide compliance-oriented reporting for government leave policies. Integration work explicitly included feed and reconciliation processes with the Integrated HR-Payroll system, consistent with Office of State Controller guidance. The Office documented a one-time pre-conversion adjustment workflow in BPP TM-65 PA30 Pre-SAP Absence Adjustment, which authorized a single dated entry on 4/1/2008 to capture approved leave that would have generated overtime and required compensation in the Integrated HR-Payroll system. Governance for the rollout relied on the BPP TM-65 procedure to control historical adjustments, assigning HR and payroll staff responsibilities for executing the PA30 adjustment and validating payroll postings. The implementation narrative centers on system-level configuration, integrated payroll interfacing, and procedural controls established to ensure that pre-conversion leave liabilities were accounted for according to state policy.
