NetSuite was deployed as the central financial system and integrated with contemporaneous SaaS stacks named in project notes, including SaaSOptics for subscription revenue operations, and Namely and Rippling for HR and payroll data synchronization. These integrations were designed to exchange payroll posting, headcount and compensation data, invoice and subscription schedules, and revenue entries between systems to support finance, accounting, revenue operations, and HR payroll interfaces.
Governance was structured around centralized chart of accounts management and oversight controls overseen by Submittable management, with change control and month end close workflows aligned to the new ERP Financial system. The implementation narrative positions Oracle NetSuite ERP as the primary system of record for financials, billing, and revenue recognition within Submittables broader SaaS application footprint.

| Microsoft | Legacy | Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service | Generative AI Platforms | AI Development | n/a | 2023 | 2023 |
Submittable implemented Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service in 2023 as part of a strategic collaboration with Microsoft to embed Generative AI Platforms into its grants management and corporate social responsibility application suite. The engagement anchors Submittable’s product roadmap to Microsoft Azure and positions Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service as the primary generative AI layer for new capabilities targeted at public, private and nonprofit organizations.
The implementation delivered a set of purpose built modules including an AI powered autofill that prepopulates grant applications from an applicant’s prior answers, an AI bot that creates grant application forms and translates them into multiple languages, and an AI supported extractor that pulls structured information from official documents into Submittable. Microsoft Azure OpenAI Service is used to power natural language generation and understanding across these modules, while application logic and workflow orchestration are implemented within Submittable’s platform.
Architecturally the solution is built on Microsoft Azure and integrates with the common data model and Microsoft Teams, with Submittable’s offerings published on Azure Marketplace and AppSource. The deployment leverages Azure platform services alongside Azure OpenAI Service to host models and surface conversational and document extraction services within the Submittable user experience. Integrations explicitly include the common data model to aid data interoperability and Microsoft Teams to extend reviewer and collaborator workflows.
Governance and operational alignment were formalized through Submittable’s role as a Microsoft Tech for Social Impact priority partner and by mapping solutions to Microsoft Cloud for Nonprofit capabilities. Initial rollout prioritized grants management, employee giving and volunteering workflows, with go to market collaboration on industry specific solutions. The announced outcomes in the implementation include faster application completion for applicants, expanded language accessibility for funders and applicants, and reduced potential for human error and fraud in document handling.
