| OpenText | Legacy | OpenText Vendor Invoice Management | AP Automation | ERP | excelerated | 2016 | 2017 |
In 2016, Subsea 7 implemented OpenText Vendor Invoice Management as an AP Automation solution tightly integrated into SAP. The implementation included OpenText Invoice Capture Center to ingest emailed and scanned invoices and to capture invoice metadata for downstream processing inside SAP.
OpenText Vendor Invoice Management was configured to support invoice capture, OCR processing, automated matching to purchase orders and supplier accounts, invoice routing for electronic approvals with actionable links, dashboard reporting, and a full audit trail. The solution processed a wide range of invoice types from single line supplier invoices to complex multi‑item capital purchase invoices, enabling automated process flows where OCR and matching succeeded and routed exceptions for approval where required.
Deployment began with a targeted roll out to the UK accounts payable team, which handled over 10,000 supplier invoices per month across 60 legal entities representing roughly 60% of global volume, then extended to Norway, United States, Gulf of Mexico, Brazil, Singapore, Australia, and France. Excelerated Sourcing served as the implementation partner, delivering configuration and technical implementation services to embed the OpenText components within the SAP application landscape. Many alternative products that would have operated outside of SAP were dismissed in favor of a solution certified and sold by SAP to avoid users leaving the SAP environment.
Project governance emphasized senior management sponsorship, internal communications, supplier education, and AP process reengineering, with initial backlog growth as the redesigned processes stabilized followed by significant reductions in outstanding invoices. Outcomes reported by Subsea 7 include streamlined purchase to payment processes end to end, invoices captured and available directly within SAP with no need to exit to another application, approximately 80% of invoices received by email, reduced inbound supplier enquiries, payments being made on time, and improved accounts payable efficiency and supplier relationships.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP SuccessFactors Compensation | Compensation Management | HCM | n/a | 2023 | 2025 |
In 2023, Subsea 7 implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as part of a broader SAP SuccessFactors programme, with the HR scope of its ERP transition moving to SuccessFactors while Finance and SCM move to SAP S4. The SuccessFactors programme is running over one year using a Greenfield fit-to-standard approach, and SAP SuccessFactors Compensation is one of the core modules selected within the Compensation Management category.
The implementation scope includes Employee Central, Recruiting, Onboarding, Compensation, Learning, Succession and Performance, with design and deployment activities aligned to standard SuccessFactors templates. SAP SuccessFactors Compensation is being configured to support structured pay cycles, eligibility rules and total rewards orchestration consistent with Compensation Management functional workflows, while Employee Central is treated as the core HR profile and workforce data source.
Program architecture and integrations are organized as a two-track transformation, with HR systems moving to SuccessFactors and Finance and SCM moving to SAP S4, both tracks reporting into a single joint Programme Direction and Executive Steering group. Subsea 7 will engage a Service Integrator and a change management organisation to work with IT and business teams to design, build, test and deploy the SuccessFactors solution, and planned integration points align SuccessFactors module data with the broader SAP S4 landscape.
Operational rollout includes centralized design and regional training delivery, with short term contractor support for Learning and Development coordination based in Sutton or Aberdeen and hybrid remote work for workshops. The role profile highlights end user training planning, Train the Trainer coordination, LMS administration tasks and mapping users to courses, which embeds learning governance and training workflows into the SuccessFactors deployment and supports adoption across HR and people managers.

| COINS Global | Legacy | COINS ERP | Construction ERP | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2012 | 2012 |
In 2012, Subsea 7 implemented COINS ERP. The COINS ERP deployment served as its Construction ERP platform for project-driven procurement, project controls, and technical document management across project lifecycles.
The implementation focused on modules and configuration aligned to construction industry workflows, including procurement and purchase order processing, project setup and cost capture, KPI configuration for project delivery, and technical document control for welding and inspection records. COINS ERP was used to capture time and quality data, with project teams and weld technicians inputting data from ALX and manual records into the system, and consolidating Welding Procedure Specification documents for client delivery.
Operational coverage included welding teams, welding engineers, project administrators, and civil engineering SRB activities, with COINS ERP acting as the central repository for technical database updates and weld quality documentation. The implementation supported evidence management workflows, including storing lab imagery and inspection macros alongside procedural documentation to support defect analysis and closeout activities.
Governance and process changes emphasized project start up to close workflows, KPI monitoring tied to project deadlines, and disciplined data entry into COINS ERP to maintain the technical database. Routine responsibilities documented in the implementation included setting KPIs, collating WPS documents, and maintaining inspection and procurement records within COINS ERP to support ongoing project controls and quality assurance.
