Suedstaerke Technographics
Discover the latest software purchases and digital transformation initiatives being undertaken by Suedstaerke and its business and technology executives. Each quarter our research team identifies on-prem and cloud applications that are being used by the 260 Suedstaerke employees from the public (Press Releases, Customer References, Testimonials, Case Studies and Success Stories) and proprietary sources.
During our research, we have identified that Suedstaerke has purchased the following applications: SAP Business One for ERP Financial in 2016, SAP Business One HCM for Core HR in 2016, SAP Business One SCM for Supply Chain Management in 2016 and the related IT decision-makers and key stakeholders.
Our database provides customer insight and contextual information on which enterprise applications and software systems Suedstaerke is running and its propensity to invest more and deepen its relationship with SAP , Odoo , IBM or identify new suppliers as part of their overall Digital and IT transformation projects to stay competitive, fend off threats from disruptive forces, or comply with internal mandates to improve overall enterprise efficiency.
We have been analyzing Suedstaerke revenues, which have grown to $25.0 million in 2024, plus its IT budget and roadmap, cloud software purchases, aggregating massive amounts of data points that form the basis of our forecast assumptions for Suedstaerke intention to invest in emerging technologies such as AI, Machine Learning, IoT, Blockchain, Autonomous Database or in cloud-based ERP, HCM, CRM, EPM, Procurement or Treasury applications.

In 2016 Suedstaerke initiated specifications and planning for SAP Business One HCM in the Core HR category with implementation partner KEK Anwendungssysteme. The HR program was scoped to run on the companys long-standing IBM Power i hardware platform and to align with a concurrent SAP centralization effort across core business processes.
KEK Anwendungssysteme began drawing up detailed requirements in January 2016 and the project deliberately prioritized core ERP modules while scheduling Core HR work as a subsequent phase. Configuration work for SAP Business One HCM focused on personnel master data enrichment, alignment with existing payroll software, and controlled extensions only where standard functionality required augmentation. The project governance included extended user training and phased familiarization to reduce operational risk during cutover.
Operational coordination tied the HR phase to a major SAP go-live on July 1, 2017 when Sales SD, Materials Management MM, Production PP-PI, Warehouse WM, Quality Management QM, Financial Accounting FI and Controlling CO were simultaneously put into operation in both plants. HR and Plant Maintenance PM were intentionally postponed past that date to limit parallel workload, with maintenance planned for 2018 and HR scheduled after initial stabilization. The deployment preserved EDI interfaces to roughly 3,000 customers and retained IBM Power i as the production host.
Project governance combined KEK project leadership with internal project management, emphasizing exhaustive testing, completion of master data and limiting custom changes to essential items to protect future upgradeability. User commitment and strict cutover discipline were central to enforcing consistent process mapping across production, materials, sales and finance prior to the Core HR rollout. SAP Business One HCM remains positioned as a phased Core HR implementation following the integrated ERP foundation.

In 2016 Suedstaerke engaged KEK Anwendungssysteme to draft specifications and begin implementing SAP Business One SCM, a Supply Chain Management application, with an explicit requirement that the solution run on the company s IBM Power i hardware platform which had been in use for over 25 years. Vendor longevity and the availability of SAP partners experienced in the food industry were principal selection criteria during the specification phase.
The implementation scope targeted core manufacturing and supply chain functions across both Schrobenhausen and S nching plants. SAP Business One SCM was configured to support Sales SD, Materials Management with Purchasing MM, Production PP-PI, Warehouse WM, Quality Management QM, Financial Accounting FI and Controlling CO, and included industry-specific capabilities such as silo mapping and batch tracking to align with potato starch production workflows.
Operationally the project emphasized minimized internal interfaces for core processes and explicit integration points to external systems, including EDI links to roughly 3,000 customers and connections to service providers for invoicing and shipping. Data migration to SAP Business One SCM was largely automated, but required substantial master data enrichment to populate additional fields introduced by the standard application, and missing master data was sourced and entered prior to go-live.
Governance and rollout followed a concentrated cutover strategy, supported by rigorous testing and an extended user training window that shifted the live start date to ensure operator readiness. The project team deliberately deferred the Maintenance and Repair PM module and Human Resources HR module to reduce change load on staff, and limited customizations to essential changes only, with KEK implementing those requests to avoid downstream release complications.
On July 1, 2017 the configured SAP modules were put into operation simultaneously in both plants, and the program was executed within the planned budget with high levels of employee engagement. Subsequent steps planned included rolling out maintenance functionality in 2018 and consolidating external EDI interfaces while retaining a small number of proprietary solutions for specialized member administration and potato billing.
