M3 Legacy M3 Accounting Core ERP Financial ERP n/a 2017 2017
In 2017, Summit Hospitality Group implemented M3 Accounting Core as its property-level financial system, adopting the application to support accounting at the 96 room TownePlace Suites by Marriott in Charlotte, NC and to centralize daily revenue and cost reporting. The deployment targeted core finance and operational reporting workflows, aligning property revenue capture with corporate accounting processes and supporting business functions including accounting, front desk operations, sales, and revenue management within the hotel property. M3 Accounting Core was configured to provide standard ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, nightly revenue posting, and group billing workflows for SMERF and long stay business. The implementation emphasized nightly and daily posting processes to ensure operational cost and daily revenue reporting into the accounting department, and supported reconciliation workflows for OTA and direct reservation activity. Operationally the application was used alongside property systems that staff were proficient in, including FOSSE and Broadvine Portfolio One, with data and reporting flows established between front desk, sales and accounting teams to align reservation, OTA and group revenue with the M3 Accounting Core ledgers. The system served as the financial hub for the property, consolidating inputs from front desk operations, sales blitz activity, and email-driven direct reservation channels into standardized accounting entries. Governance for the implementation focused on property-level workflow changes, where front desk managers and the operational sales leader produced daily revenue and cost reports for submission to the accounting department using M3 Accounting Core. Role-based operational processes covered scheduling and transaction capture by 20 to 25 staff at the property, group billing for SMERF business, and routine reconciliation of OTA and direct booking revenue streams into the ERP Financial system.
