| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2021 | 2021 |
In 2021, Suzlon Energy implemented SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP Financial system. The deployment concentrated on consolidating financial accounting and procurement capabilities into SAP S/4 HANA to provide a unified transactional backbone for finance and procurement functions.
The implementation encompassed SAP S/4 HANA modules including core finance, controlling, procure-to-pay, and SAP Materials Management. Configuration work emphasized master data harmonization for suppliers and materials, purchase order and invoice automation, and embedded financial posting flows aligned with ERP Financial workflows.
The SAP S/4 HANA system was instrumented to support integrations with operational procurement and manufacturing transaction processes, enabling transactional handoffs between purchasing, materials management, and finance. Role based authorization and SAP standard interfaces were used to enforce segregation of duties and transaction auditability across affected business functions.
Governance adjustments focused on establishing centralized master data stewardship, standardized purchase to pay approval workflows, and a consolidated accounting cadence driven by SAP S/4 HANA data models. SAP S/4 HANA serves as the single source of transactional and master data for finance, procurement, and materials management at Suzlon Energy.

In 2015 Suzlon Energy implemented SAP Enterprise Asset Management to support Enterprise Asset Management across quality and manufacturing operations at its Ratlam, Madhya Pradesh blade manufacturing site. SAP Enterprise Asset Management was used to manage office documentation, submit usage decisions, record final inspection results, log non-conformities and repair results, and generate inspection certificates for blades while coordinating with third party inspection representatives.
The deployment concentrated on inspection and asset record modules configured to capture physical inspection reports, usage decision workflows, and certificate generation. Functional capabilities implemented include final inspection result recording, non-conformity tracking, repair outcome recording, and management of PPAP artifacts such as process flow diagrams PFD, FMEA, MSA, control plans, statistical process control data SPC, and the application of seven quality tools.
Operational coverage included coordination of physical blade inspections with a DNV representative engineer acting as a third party inspector, and day to day use by quality engineers at the Ratlam factory. The SAP Enterprise Asset Management instance was used alongside manufacturing quality systems including QDA, enabling root cause analysis that drew inputs from QDA, SAP and EAM records, and supporting non‑conformance closure and corrective action workflows with factory teams.
Governance and process changes documented during the rollout included PFMEA and control plan creation and updates, COPQ analysis and reporting to the quality team, Kaizen activities to sustain 5S, and structured support for NC closure and corrective actions. The implementation emphasized inspection workflow orchestration, documented PPAP deliverables, and structured evidence capture for inspection certificates and defect remediation.

In 2017 Suzlon Energy implemented Cisco Webex Meetings as its Audio Video and Web Conferencing solution on the corporate website. Cisco Webex Meetings is used to provide browser and client-based meeting access directly from public site pages and contact flows. The implementation leverages standard Cisco Webex Meetings capabilities including scheduled meeting orchestration, real-time audio and video, screen sharing, meeting recording, and participant management, configured to support web-initiated joins and external attendee workflows. Integration focus is on the website layer, embedding join links and scheduling interfaces into Suzlon Energy’s public pages to enable external collaboration with vendors and stakeholders. Operational coverage targets corporate communications and remote collaboration across the organization, with governance centered on web access controls and meeting-level participant management rather than internal transactional systems.
