In 2010, Taj Hotels implemented Oracle E-Business Suite. The Oracle E-Business Suite deployment targeted ERP Financial capabilities to support the company finance function across Taj Hotels units in India.
The implementation focused on core finance modules including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed assets, budgeting, and management information system reporting. Tax and statutory reporting workflows were configured to handle TDS, Service Tax, Excise Duty, Goods and Services Tax, Provident Fund, ESI, Profession Tax, and state level taxes such as VAT, Luxury Tax, and Sales Tax, supporting internal and statutory audit processes.
Operationally the rollout involved finance and IT collaboration to drive system configuration and ongoing platform evolution, including ERP upgrades from Oracle 11i to R12 and system changes to accommodate the new indirect tax regime. Oracle E-Business Suite was used as the ERP Financial backbone for accounts maintenance, MIS preparation, audit handling, and unit level budget and forecast processes.
Governance and process work centered on embedding statutory compliance workflows into the application, updating remittance and filing processes, and coordinating cross functional change control between finance and IT. The narrative links Taj Hotels, Oracle E-Business Suite, ERP Financial, and the finance business function through explicit implementation of accounting, tax, audit, and budgeting capabilities.

Governance processes routed HRMS reports into management review cycles, supported timely grievance redressal and case escalation, and informed employee engagement interventions through review of Gallup survey results.
Operational ownership centered on HR teams performing HRMS database administration, report generation, payroll coordination and compliance filings, with the Oracle E-Business Suite HRMS serving as the authoritative source for Core HR data and case handling across onboarding, payroll, performance, exit and engagement processes.
