Block, Inc. Legacy Square Point of Sale Point Of Sale ERP Services and Operations n/a 2023 2023
In 2023, Taziki's Mediterranean Café aligned its enterprise systems around Square Point of Sale and Restaurant365 to establish a single source of truth. Taziki's Mediterranean Café deployed Square Point of Sale, a Block, Inc. product in the Point Of Sale category, together with Restaurant365 across 108 fast casual locations and a workforce of approximately 3,000 employees in the United States, consolidating transaction and operational data into a unified pipeline. The Restaurant365 implementation emphasized Accounting and Inventory functional modules, while Square Point of Sale handled multi-channel transaction capture. The combined configuration enabled day‑to‑day reporting, mobile inventory counts completed concurrently by multiple users on phones, and food cost reporting that linked theoretical to actual consumption, allowing analysis of menu performance and promotions with channel-level context. Integration focused on flowing on-premise, mobile, and catering sales from Square Point of Sale into Restaurant365, creating cross-functional visibility for operations, finance, and people teams. With all channels consolidated, the company could segment performance by dine-in, off-premise, and catering behavior and correlate sales mix to inventory usage and labor outcomes at the store level. Governance and process changes centered on a Balanced Scorecard approach that layered Restaurant365 and Square data to connect financial metrics with training completion, turnover, and engagement. Workforce scheduling and labor evaluation were restructured around a normalized metric, entrées per labor hour, enabling consistent benchmarking and targeted coaching for managers rather than relying solely on revenue-based indicators. As a result of the Square Point of Sale and Restaurant365 ecosystem, Taziki's gained the ability to identify whether sales shifts originated from traffic, ticket size, frequency, or channel mix, to make more informed menu and promotional decisions, and to surface food cost variances previously obscured by percentage metrics. The integration reduced manager administrative burden, improved inventory accuracy through mobile counts, and provided leadership with a real-time, holistic view of operations, finance, and guest behavior that supports more intentional business planning.
