In 2011, Texas Enterprises implemented Epicor Prophet 21 WMS as its Warehouse Management application. The initial deployment centered on the Euless, TX distribution site and supported core warehouse operations, logistics coordination with sales, inventory control, human resources activities for staffing, and quality control functions managed by the operations team.
Configuration emphasized inventory management and warehouse process control using Epicor Prophet 21 WMS, combined with operator-level mobile use and reporting to support daily inventory reconciliation and route planning. Functional capabilities implemented included real-time inventory visibility, picking and shipment orchestration consistent with Warehouse Management workflows, workforce scheduling and oversight, and operational reporting used to adjust procedures and drive efficiency.
Epicor Prophet 21 WMS operated alongside a separate real-time routing application that used GPS and automated routes based on traffic patterns to provide customer ETAs, supporting delivery logistics and the management of seven plus drivers. Operational coverage included route building, dispatch tracking, equipment maintenance oversight, and close daily interaction between warehouse operations and the sales team to align inventory and customer commitments.
Governance and process changes were led by the operations manager who developed procedures, maintained detailed records, ran monthly safety training, and monitored compliance with safety and quality guidelines. The routing software implementation is explicitly credited with dramatically increased efficiency and customer service with minimal expense, while Epicor Prophet 21 WMS provided the warehouse control, inventory and reporting backbone for operations.
