In 2022, Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce configured Advanced NG as its NG CRM system to centralize member, event, and marketing data and to provide a single source for internal stakeholder reporting. The implementation focused on surfacing CRM transaction and event data for operational and marketing use cases within the organisation.
The project upgraded existing NG CRM system dashboards by importing data from Microsoft SQL Server into Microsoft Power BI, designing optimized tabular data models and creating KPIs using DAX expressions. Crystal Reports were converted into Power BI paginated reports with drill through and filtering, and reports were published to the web to enable browser access for internal users.
Automation and collaboration were implemented by instrumenting Power Automate workflows that trigger on defined CRM events and send email notifications, and by provisioning a SharePoint site that documents NG CRM system guidance, enables ticket submission, and routes direct messages to Microsoft Teams. Operational coverage explicitly included the events and marketing teams, with the IT/data analyst liaising across teams to maintain data accuracy and GDPR compliance in the internal database.
Governance changes centered on establishing a single reporting pipeline from Advanced NG to Power BI, continuous dashboard refinement, and a documented issue management workflow hosted on SharePoint that ties into Teams for escalation. Report accessibility, workflow automation, and ongoing analysis were credited with optimizing work processes and increasing individual productivity as stated by the IT/data analyst.
