Configuration focused on automating mailpiece composition from Dat-Mail Editor, cleansing and ZIP level correction via Accuzip, and routing parcels through Postal Package Partner, while SendPro Online handled postage calculation and shipping label production.
Integrations were operationally scoped to high volume membership mailings, with the systems exchanging prepared mail files and shipping metadata to enable batch rate shopping and carrier selection. For mailings above defined volume thresholds The American Legion routed parcels to a third party logistics company for drop shipping to secure deeper discounts and to accelerate delivery to members, preserving the end to end mailflow between internal mail operations and external logistics.
Governance emphasized threshold based process controls and centralized mail operations to enforce consistent address quality and carrier selection workflows, with responsibilities placed in mail operations and member services. The result documented by the organization was the ability to mail and ship at the lowest rates possible for its volumes, and when mailings exceeded certain levels to further discount costs and speed delivery through drop shipping.
