In 2008 The Queen's Health Systems implemented Infor Geac ERP as its ERP Financial application to support core finance operations, including accounts payable and general ledger processing. The Infor Geac ERP deployment functioned as the organizationwide ERP Financial solution for transactional financial processing and for managing A/P interface workflows across finance teams.
Implementation activities included creating extracts to convert data from GEAC financial application systems for loading into Oracle PeopleSoft, using Microsoft Access database queries, Excel workbooks, and mainframe programming languages for file conversion. Project work also produced Excel templates with data validations to standardize A/P interfaces, and the implementation emphasized extract, transform and load processing to reconcile GEAC data into downstream systems. Operational ownership rested with a single lead who provided customer support, acted as system administrator, handled maintenance including applying updates, and made most operational decisions with minimum guidance while reporting to the CIO for five years and currently reporting to the director of IT ERP. The Infor Geac ERP configuration therefore centered on A/P interface orchestration, data conversion tooling, and ongoing application administration within the finance function.
