| IBM | Legacy | IBM Maximo | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2017 |
In 2017, The Star Entertainment Group implemented IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management platform. The deployment established IBM Maximo as the primary system for asset tracking and maintenance ticketing across The Star’s Australian resort and hospitality operations, supporting facilities, engineering and event services staff.
IBM Maximo was configured to provide centralized work order management, an asset registry, preventive maintenance scheduling and service request capture, enabling front-line teams to raise and track maintenance work through IBM Maximo. The implementation emphasized standard work order workflows and asset lifecycle records, and staff-level use included raising maintenance requests directly in IBM Maximo as part of daily operations.
Operationally IBM Maximo operated alongside The Star’s event operations and point of sale systems, with event services teams using IBM Maximo for maintenance and setup requests while continuing to manage bookings, BEOs and sales through their existing event and POS tools. The deployment covered facilities and event operations across the property portfolio, aligning maintenance intake from hospitality, food and beverage, and venue operations into the EAM platform.
Governance was centered on standardizing ticket creation and approval processes, consolidating asset data and establishing common maintenance workflows for engineering and operations teams. The approach prioritized consistent work order lifecycle management and a single asset register within IBM Maximo to support operational coordination between facilities management and event services.
