| Blackbaud | Legacy | Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT | Non Profit ERP | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2010 | 2011 |
In 2010, The Trevor Project implemented Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT as its Non Profit ERP platform. The deployment positioned Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT to serve as the organization wide financial backbone, covering fund accounting, general ledger, bank ledger, and structured financial reporting for development and finance functions. The Database Administrator role from 2010 to present anchored configuration and ongoing data operations, with responsibilities spanning constituent data alignment, gift entry, and reporting workflows.
Configuration work centered on gift entry interfaces, batch and validation processes for gifts, custom reporting, complex query construction, and data import and export routines that supported fundraising analytics. Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT was configured to maintain fund balances and GL level bank ledger entries that are used in reconciliation and reporting. Data entry guidelines and validation rules were developed and enforced to ensure data quality and consistency across fundraising and accounting records.
Integrations were implemented between Financial Edge NXT and Raiser's Edge for donor and gift records, with Kintera backend reports and mapping metadata used for event and campaign data, and with Kintera Sphere and Authorize.net for credit card processing. Regular reconciliation processes aligned Raiser's Edge donor and fundraising balances with the Financial Edge bank ledger and fund balances. Operational coverage explicitly included the Development and Accounting departments and supported direct mail, stewardship, and event fundraising workflows.
Governance emphasized liaison activities with Blackbaud to ensure proper execution of database tasks and product updates, stewardship of donor confidentiality in accordance with internal policies and privacy laws, and the maintenance of coding in Raiser's Edge to track appeals and cultivation activities tied to Financial Edge accounting structures. The Database Administrator executed queries, imports, and exports for analysis and fundraising operations, created mail lists and data merges for direct mail campaigns, and coordinated reconciliation tasks between fundraising and finance systems.
