Integrations focused on payroll linkage, Vanguard automating international payroll processes and implementing Workday payroll integration for the UK and Australia to align absence data with regional payroll calculations. Operational coverage included HR and payroll business teams, with the system used to address payroll processing challenges and to support recurring business as usual projects such as partnership payroll tasks and annual payroll activities.
Governance was organized around a Technical Product Owner model, responsible for reviewing new Workday features in the payroll, time and absence space and prioritizing roadmap changes, including implementation of COVID19 related changes. Ongoing governance emphasized feature review, BAU support and iterative workflow improvements to sustain automation and employee experience objectives.

The engagement centered on using AppWorx Workload Automation as the scheduling backbone within a Business Process Management context to coordinate ETL, API calls, and database stored procedure execution across Node.js microservices and Oracle databases.
Implementation scope included scheduling calls to third party APIs and invoking Oracle database functions and stored procedures, with AppWorx Workload Automation driving those job schedules. Application components comprised Node.js Express servers, a custom logging microservice, ETL routines implemented in Node.js using the request module and OAuth 2.0, and an Angular front end; the AppWorx scheduler triggered these components to achieve timed and event driven orchestration.
The deployment architecture integrated AppWorx Workload Automation with Azure App Services hosting Node.js application instances behind Nginx reverse proxy, Oracle Database for transactional and PL/SQL processing, and Apigee gateway for authentication and static content delivery. CI CD pipelines in Jenkins deployed application artifacts to Nginx on AppService instances using SSH and rsync, Terraform scripts managed Azure resources and scaling, and observability was provided through Azure Application Insights with OpenTelemetry plus Splunk for centralized error logging.
Operational governance and delivery followed Agile methodology with task and defect management in JIRA, version control and branch policies in GIT, and automated test practices using Cucumber, Mocha, and Jasmine.
