The implementation focused on tokenization and settlement modules, including the tokenization of central bank cash and securities, clearing workflows and delivery versus payment settlement executed entirely on ledger. The R3 Corda Blockchain Platform configuration preserved transaction privacy by restricting visibility of transaction history to the parties involved, and it anchored both cash and asset tokens into a single DLT-based settlement flow to support immediate settlement exchanges between buyers and sellers.
Integrations were explicit to the extent of the proof of concept, linking TMX Group systems conceptually with Payments Canada and the Bank of Canada cash infrastructures and exploring interactions with broader financial market infrastructure. The work emphasized the interoperability of a Blockchain Platform with existing FMI processes, demonstrating an end to end settlement chain that fuses asset and fiat tokenization within the same distributed ledger environment.
