IFS Legacy IFS Cloud ERP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2019 2022
In 2019 Tomra Systems implemented IFS Cloud ERP as its ERP Financial solution, targeting finance and accounting functions across the TOMRA NOE business unit. The TOMRA NOE organization had been working with IFS version 7.5 for many years and the move to IFS Cloud required adaptation to a different architecture and usage model, which led to several early solution and data decisions being made under uncertain conditions. The implementation concentrated on core ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger configuration, accounts payable and receivable workflows, period close orchestration and financial reporting. Workstreams emphasized accounting structure configuration, chart of accounts harmonization and automation of transactional workflows, with business rule testing and iterative configuration refinements typical for ERP Financial deployments. The project followed the IFS five phase methodology and the TOMRA NOE project group only fully aligned in the third phase, Establish Solution, when validation with real transactional data revealed what worked and what required rework. Operational ownership rested with the TOMRA NOE project group and finance stakeholders, who used iterative test cycles in Establish Solution to refine data models and solution design before later phases. Governance shifted from early ad hoc decision making to formal decision gates and controlled sign off during Establish Solution, with increased emphasis on data validation and configuration rollback options. The documented implementation risk centered on early decisions made on somewhat uncertain grounds, which the team addressed by extending test cycles and tightening acceptance criteria.

Sage Legacy Sage People (ex Fairsail) Core HR HCM n/a 2021 2021
In 2021, Tomra Systems implemented Sage People (ex Fairsail) as its Core HR application to operate as the group HR Information System. Sage People (ex Fairsail) is deployed on the Salesforce platform and is positioned to manage employee master data, workforce administration, and core HR workflows across TOMRA’s global organization. The implementation emphasizes typical Core HR functional modules including employee records and organizational management, absence and leave administration, position and role management, configurable approval workflows, case management, and standardized reporting. System administration responsibilities documented in the implementation include creating and managing user accounts, enforcing role based access controls, maintaining data integrity, ensuring data privacy and security, compiling complex data reports for senior management, and operating a helpdesk for day to day issue resolution. Operational structure places the HRIS administration in a Group role reporting to the Group Systems Manager, with the Senior Solution Specialist acting as the primary interface to the system supplier and internal HR Core Team. The deployment reflects a cloud based, Salesforce platform architecture with governance oriented around operational documentation, training material and continuous improvement projects managed in collaboration with global HR stakeholders. Governance and process changes documented with the rollout center on formalizing operational documentation, training and support workflows, compliance controls for security and privacy, and a project cadence for system enhancements. The SAGe People implementation supports TOMRA Systems Sage People (ex Fairsail) Core HR business function by centralizing HR administration, enabling standardized processes across divisions, and providing a single source of HR data for global HR operations.

IFS Legacy IFS Field Service Management (FSM) Field Service Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2016 2017
In 2016, Tomra Systems implemented IFS Field Service Management (FSM) to standardize and centralize service operations across its Nordic organization. The deployment targeted the critical need for rapid fault resolution and fast spare parts delivery for recycling machines located at geographically dispersed retail sites, placing the work squarely in the Field Service Management category and addressing service organization priorities that directly impact store throughput and customer experience. The IFS Field Service Management implementation emphasized core field service modules, including work order management, scheduling and dispatch, spare parts management, service contract handling and mobile field technician functionality for on-site diagnostics and parts fulfillment. Configuration focused on resource planning and an enhanced operational overview to enable cost-effective servicing of distributed assets, with standard Field Service Management capabilities applied to SLA tracking, preventive maintenance scheduling and parts logistics to support efficient field workflows. Integrations centered on supporting the sales process through customer relationship management connectivity and on streamlining internal administration including invoice management, consolidating service and commercial data across the Nordic footprint. The solution covered service, sales and administrative business functions and was designed to provide a unified operational view between countries, improving planning and transparency for store-facing service teams. Governance and rollout aligned with a prior corporate decision to adopt a single business application across the Nordics, with process standardization used to streamline service workflows and cross-border visibility. The implementation was explicitly intended to reduce total costs over time and to improve the way the service process was handled, prioritizing reduced time to resolution and faster spare parts delivery for store operators.
