The implementation instrumented modules for enterprise quality management and shop floor operational efficiency, and leveraged Plex Manufacturing Cloud capabilities such as Kanban, sequencing, just-in-time capabilities and Toyota Shipping Confirmation System support specific to Toyota supply chain requirements. Toyotetsu integrated programmable logic controls into over 250 work centers in the first plant and planned PLC integration across all machines in North America, and signaled future RFID tracking work to extend traceability and automation. Architecturally the deployment used Plex Systems’ cloud multi-tenant model to connect shop floor production, administrative functions and the supplier base, creating a real-time information flow between systems, materials, equipment, processes, suppliers, products and customers. Plex ERP was configured to support Kanban methodology alongside shop floor data collection and production sequencing, aligning operational workflows with Toyota Production System practices used by Toyotetsu. Plante Moran served as the global premier implementation partner leading the project and providing program management and consulting services across plant rollouts. Governance emphasis focused on operational integration across plants and supplier touchpoints, and the stated operational intent was to eliminate manual processes and increase reporting efficiency while delivering real-time visibility for manufacturing and quality teams.
