In 2014 Translational Research Institute implemented Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne as its ERP Financial platform to centralize finance procurement and stores functions. Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne was selected and put into production within a compressed three month timeline to meet operational needs.
The deployment included core financial management modules, specifically accounts receivable, accounts payable, general ledger, payroll, account reconciliation and cash management, combined with budget and forecasting capabilities and structured management reporting. A Procure to Pay solution was designed and configured to satisfy joint venture partner requirements and to integrate procurement supply and stores workflows into the ERP Financial system. Financial reporting processes were strategically structured to deliver monthly, quarterly, biannual and annual management reports and statutory financial statements.
The solution was implemented as an enterprise application supporting shared services for finance and supply chain across the institute, with configuration focused on centralized master data and role based access for finance procurement and stores personnel. Implementation governance emphasized rapid configuration and cutover, enabling Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne to support 900+ users shortly after go live. The establishment of supply and stores functions from start up was executed alongside finance process configuration to create end to end operational flows.
Program governance routed financial escalations and reporting through the Board of Directors as well as the CEO and COO, aligning system outputs to executive oversight. Operational ownership consolidated accounts receivable and payable, payroll and cash management under the shared service finance function, changing workflows from distributed processing into centralized transaction handling. The procurement function was established and managed from supply and stores to enforce consistent Procure to Pay controls and partner compliance.
Responsibility for administering the financial management systems included evaluation selection and implementation of Oracle JD Edwards EnterpriseOne and ongoing oversight of general accounting functions. Explicit achievements recorded during the program include establishment of a shared service finance function for 900+ staff, design of a Procure to Pay solution meeting JV partner requirements, implementation of JDE within three months to support 900+ users, and establishment of finance supply and stores functions in a highly complex start up environment. Reporting lines were formalized to the Board CEO and COO for all financial matters.
