| SAP | Legacy | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | ERP Financial | ERP Financial Management | n/a | 2014 | 2015 |
In 2014, Travelex implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as its core financial system, classified under the ERP Financial category. The deployment concentrated on stabilizing financial accounting processes and ingesting front end transaction data into SAP for consistent accounting treatment.
The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementation focused on standard financial accounting capabilities including general ledger posting, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and the accounting logic required to translate point of sale transactions into SAP financial entries. Configuration work centered on mapping interface payloads to SAP financial ledgers and building accounting derivation rules to ensure consistent posting behavior across transaction types.
Integration architecture relied on a point of sale front end that fed transaction data into middleware, with interface records posted into SAP. The program used ABAP development to transform and post interface data according to the agreed accounting logic, and the work involved close collaboration between Finance and IT teams to reverse engineer how transactional data had been recorded in the general ledger and to reproduce that logic within SAP ERP ECC 6.0.
Governance and rollout activities included stakeholder workshops to gather requirements and sign off on accounting logic, development of end to end test scenarios, and setting up SAP clients populated with testing and training data. Business Process Documents were authored and presented for business sign off, and training sessions were delivered to the SAP Centre of Excellence team along with exercise materials to operationalize the new solutions.

| Workday | Legacy | Workday Absence Management | Absence and Leave Management | HCM | n/a | 2014 | 2014 |
In 2014, Travelex implemented Workday Absence Management as part of a global Workday SaaS HR deployment, integrating absence and time workflows into the broader HR platform. The implementation was aligned to the Absence and Leave Management category and executed during a multi-country roll out covering the UK, Middle East, India, APAC, North America and Central Europe where Workday was deployed as the HR solution.
Implementation scope included analysis and redesign of Time and Absence, HR, Payroll, Pensions and Benefits functional areas, with configuration of Workday Absence Management to support standard absence request flows, entitlement and accrual rules, balance tracking and approval routing. The project role delivered country-specific payroll requirements and supported configuration workstreams so absence policies and calculation rules mapped to local labor and payroll needs.
Integrations were scoped and tested against existing interfaces and feeds, and validation occurred with outsourced and partly managed payroll vendors. The program produced country-level Payroll Requirements Specifications, evaluated payroll vendor options, negotiated Statements of Work and Service and Operational Agreements, and provided a short-term payroll solution for several Middle Eastern markets until a global payroll approach could be agreed.
Governance and process change were structured through discovery workshops with HR and payroll managers, re-engineering of end-to-end HR and payroll processes, and a documented mitigation strategy for identified risks and issues. The team created testing scenarios, managed unit through user acceptance testing and parallel payroll testing, and completed validation and formal sign off to operationalize absence management processes.
The delivery emphasized operational readiness, including training for key personnel to operate Workday Absence Management and updated procedures for Benefits and Pension workflows. Risk identification and mitigation were explicitly addressed during the implementation and a business case with cost analysis was prepared for executive decision making on global payroll options.
