In 2015 TUI Nederland N.V. deployed Avaya Scopia as its enterprise video conferencing platform, classed under Audio Video and Web Conferencing. The implementation was carried out inside an ICT estate that supported roughly 2500 workplaces, approximately 130 network connected locations in the Netherlands, and two high technology data centers used for primary operations and disaster recovery.
Avaya Scopia was implemented to support room based video endpoints, central conferencing bridges and a management and monitoring layer consistent with Audio Video and Web Conferencing deployments. Configuration work included endpoint provisioning, centralized conference bridging and operational monitoring that aligned with the System Management Center function, and endpoint firmware and access control aligned with existing mobile device management processes.
The Scopia deployment was integrated into TUI Nederland s Avaya telephony environment and its VoIP call center operations in the Netherlands and Curacao, leveraging the company s managed data network and campus and WAN switching fabric. The implementation leveraged existing infrastructure components such as Cisco Nexus switching, Equallogic storage and the dual data center topology, and operated alongside other ICT domains including System Engineering, Application Development and Technical Support.
Governance and rollout were executed predominantly by TUI ICT internal teams under the ICT Director and CIO leadership team, with the System Management Center providing ongoing monitoring and incident workflows. The program was scoped and operated as an internal ICT service, with deployment and operational ownership retained by TUI Nederland s inhouse teams rather than procured managed services.
