The project emphasized strict configuration control and pre go live modifications, with four internal system champions trained through six formal sessions to standardize user interaction, and a staged go live across customers to preserve operational continuity and provide a fallback option.
Architecturally the rollout used Prophet Pr2 Client Applications and Prophet Pr2 Hand Held Applications as the operational front end, with Microsoft SQL Server and Windows Server Family in the back end, Crystal Reports for management reporting and XML Electronic Data Interchange for electronic shipment notifications. The system maintains full traceability from goods received to finished product dispatch and produces Advance Shipping Notices for delivered pallets when required, while real time consolidation of line data was planned as a stage two enhancement.
Governance and process changes were formalized via the company IT steering committee and the system champion network, with a lockdown facility implemented to control user access and enforce process discipline. Turners involved customers in configuration, used extended pre implementation planning over a year and reported that the Prophet ERP implementation tightened internal processes and enabled faster and cheaper product distribution while lowering operating overheads as stated in project materials.
