In 2013 Twinings implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 as the companywide ERP Financial platform. The program included a bespoke Trade Promotion Management TPM solution designed and delivered with HCL Axon UK, aligning planning and pricing workflows across finance, sales, and supply chain.
The TPM capability was architected on SAP BI-IP NW 7.3 and instrumented to support business planning for P and L using SAP BI-IP Business Planning. Configuration work included data modelling design, data mapping and system integration analysis, customization of planning functions, and the creation of a data lock concept to secure planning periods.
Integrations were explicit and tightly scoped, with SAP APO-DP providing demand planning inputs, SAP ECC SD supplying pricing conditions into the TPM planning layer, and SAP BI-IP acting as the planning and analytic engine. The design emphasized deterministic data flows between APO-DP, ECC SD and BI-IP, enabling aligned promotion forecasting, pricing condition orchestration and P and L planning.
Project governance and delivery roles were defined through HCL Axon UK, with a Lead TPM Solution Consultant responsible for security matrix design and delivery, documentation and configuration handoffs, and support to the offshore SAP BW team for implementation tasks. The implementation narrative reflects a systems integration effort centered on SAP ERP ECC 6.0 within an ERP Financial context, with formal planning controls and security rules instituted for promotion planning and financial alignment.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP HCM (HR) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2010 | 2011 |
In 2010, Twinings implemented SAP HCM (HR) to manage Core HR. The deployment established a centralized HR system of record for employee master data, personnel administration and organizational management, and SAP HCM (HR) was configured to cover standard Core HR workflows including employee lifecycle management and workforce reporting.
Configuration emphasized modular HR processes and automation such as personnel actions, position control and time management data capture, aligned with Core HR functional taxonomy. The implementation included access controls based on roles and data governance to support compliance and HR process standardization.
Over time the SAP HCM implementation has been integrated into Twinings broader SAP estate, and in completing its first migration to RISE with SAP S/4HANA Twinings Ovaltine now runs SAP HCM alongside SAP S/4HANA, SAP Business Technology Platform, SAP Ariba and SAP Digital Supply Chain Management. This integration supports cross functional flows between HR, procurement and supply chain, and enables personnel data to feed enterprise reporting and Business Technology Platform based analytics.
Twinings has reported that its partnership with SAP since 2011 has been used to reduce overheads, optimise ERP processes from procurement to HR, and empower decision-making with better access to data. Governance moved toward centralized HR master data controls and standardized HR workflows as part of the wider SAP portfolio rollout.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP BusinessObjects | Analytics and BI | Analytics and BI | n/a | 2013 | 2013 |
In 2013, Twinings implemented SAP BusinessObjects as part of an enterprise Trade Promotion Management initiative. The enterprise program, driven and designed with HCL Axon UK, centered on a bespoke TPM architecture built on SAP BI-IP NW 7.3 and aligned with Analytics and BI requirements for trade promotion planning and reporting.
Implementation work included data modelling design and creation, detailed data mapping and system integration analysis, and customization of planning functions to support P&L planning workflows. The SAP BusinessObjects deployment served as the analytics and reporting layer interfacing with the BI-IP planning engine for scenario modeling and promoter reporting.
The solution integrated with SAP APO-DP for demand planning inputs, SAP ECC SD for pricing conditions and transactional pricing data, and with SAP BI-IP Business Planning for P&L orchestration. Operational coverage targeted trade promotion management, sales and pricing operations, demand planning and finance planning functions, providing consolidated planning data across those business functions.
Governance and operational controls were implemented via a data lock concept and a defined security matrix, accompanied by system integration analysis, documentation and configuration support provided to the HCL SAP BW offshore team. A Lead TPM Solution Consultant at HCL Axon UK led the TPM specific configuration and delivered the security matrix and planning function customization for the enterprise program.
