Clearstar Sterling Background Check Clearstar ESR Check BackGround Screening HCM n/a 2012 2012
In 2012 UC Davis Health deployed Clearstar ESR Check as its BackGround Screening solution within the Office of Academic Personnel for the School of Medicine in Sacramento, California. The deployment supported background screening workflows used from August 2012 to July 2015, and Clearstar ESR Check was the primary system for reviewing and processing background checks for new hires. Clearstar ESR Check was configured to manage candidate screening workflows, administrative review queues, and recordkeeping linked to personnel files. The implementation emphasized applicant data intake, adjudication steps for screening results, and status tracking for hire approvals, and staff operated the Clearstar ESR Check application alongside Outlook, MyTravel, and MS Office to coordinate scheduling, travel, and reimbursement tasks related to hiring and onboarding. The Clearstar ESR Check deployment replaced the Sterling Background Check system, and UC Davis Health executed a conversion of personnel files to ensure accurate transfer into the new screening records. Operational ownership remained with the Office of Academic Personnel, with cross functional impact on academic human resources, onboarding, and administrative processing for honoraria and expenses, and the implementation standardized background check review processes within academic hiring workflows.
