In 2015, Union Bank of India implemented Oracle E-Business Suite r12 in a focused project at its Mumbai site in Maharashtra between May 2015 and July 2015, concentrating on General Ledger and Financial Statement Generator reporting. The engagement targeted core finance functions under the ERP Financial category to standardize ledger accounting and statutory and management statement production across the bank and its distributed locations.
The implementation configured General Ledger and the Financial Statement Generator, delivering a set of 58 FSG reports. Configuration work included defining the accounting flexfield structure and chart of accounts, Ledger, Operating Unit, Calendar and multi currency settings. Multi reporting currency and consolidation capabilities were defined, along with revaluation and translation processes. FSG design used row set, column set, content set and row order constructs to meet varied statement layouts.
Oracle E-Business Suite was integrated with the bank s Finacle system to obtain transactional data required to produce CO and ZO breakup formats for reporting. WEB-ADI was provisioned to import very large journal line loads for period close processing. The deployment covered reporting needs for multiple local branches and three international branches, impacting finance, consolidation and statutory reporting functions across the organization.
Project governance emphasized requirement gathering, demonstration of standard FSG functionality and iterative configuration. Responsibilities included capturing reporting requirements, recommending applicable standard functionality, preparing the 58 FSG reports for dispersed stakeholders, and operationalizing GL processes and mass journal import workflows. The implementation established configured reporting structures and ingestion processes to support ongoing GL and FSG operations under Oracle E-Business Suite within the bank s ERP Financial landscape.

In 2015, Union Bank of India implemented Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management as its centralized Absence and Leave Management capability. The deployment replaced Oracle PeopleSoft Absence Management and established Oracle Cloud HCM Absence Management as the bank's primary system for leave administration across its India operations supporting 75,594 employees.
The implementation focused on standard absence lifecycle functionality, including configuration of absence types, entitlement and accrual rules, balance calculations, employee self-service requests, and multi-level manager approvals. Configuration work referenced category-aligned controls such as eligibility rules and approval workflows, with fast formulas applied to absence accrual and eligibility logic as part of rule customization.
Architecturally, the rollout used the Oracle Cloud HCM tenancy model with role based access controls and workforce data instrumentation to feed BI reporting and transaction loads. Technical tasks noted in the implementation scope included HCM Data Loader and BI report configuration for bulk data loads and operational reporting, and alignment of absence records with Core HR and Payroll module data models within Oracle Cloud HCM to ensure consistent employee master data and payroll eligibility.
Governance and operational handover emphasized upskilling existing HR and IT administrators who had Oracle PeopleSoft experience, shifting leave administration processes into centralized cloud workflows and established approval guardrails. The program included administrator training on fast formulas, HDL and BI reports to sustain ongoing configuration, policy updates, and operational reporting.
