The Exela Lockbox implementation was provisioned into USAA's Windows-centric infrastructure where application hosting and services were administered on Hyper-V hypervisors and Windows Servers within an Active Directory and WSUS managed environment. The remittance processing landscape included high-speed scanning capture hardware and PayCourier retail and archive applications as operational components supporting payment image capture and archival. Operational automation for the environment was managed through scripted jobs using PowerShell, Batch, and Perl to orchestrate file movement, indexing, and archival handoffs.
Governance and runbook ownership were assigned to an internal application owner and technical lead responsible for system administration, vendor coordination for capture hardware, and automation of operational jobs. The implementation emphasized orchestration between capture hardware, image processing, and Exela Lockbox to sustain AR Automation workflows and exception handling processes.

A senior Workday consultant on the USAA engagement in San Antonio, Texas, led environment configuration and functional setup from January 2017 through March 2019, establishing baseline application configurations and operational documentation for HR stakeholders.
The implementation encompassed configuration of Workday core HR elements alongside time and pay structures, benefits, absence management, and compensation structure, and it integrated talent management capabilities within the Workday suite. Workstreams included setting up compensation eligibility rules based on compensation grades and job profiles, supporting merit planning and bonus processing, and creating business flow diagrams for staffing, benefits, and compensation processes.
Reporting and data management were central to the scope, with creation and enhancement of both standard and custom reports across Compensation, Payroll, Benefits, Recruiting, Talent and Performance, Compliance, International Assignment, Contingent Worker, Scheduled Processes, Headcount, and Termination. The team managed data conversions and configured HR and compensation related business processes, and they implemented scheduled reporting and security permissions for report sharing and authentication.
Project governance used Scrum Agile methodology and produced end user module guides, SME setup and configuration guides, and operational manuals for operations teams. Day to day support responsibilities included Workday HCM, security, compensation, and reporting issues, and the engagement formalized process documentation and operational handoffs to sustain absence and leave management operations within HR, payroll, benefits, compensation, staffing, and time tracking functions.
