Xplor Technologies Legacy Xplor Legend Gym Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2017 2017
In 2017 the University of Bristol went live with Xplor Legend across its Sport, Exercise & Health department to manage member accounts, bookings, payments and digital member services, improving access to physical activity. This deployment used Xplor Legend as the central Gym Management platform for member management, class scheduling, payment processing and digital service provisioning across campus sport facilities. The implementation scope focused on membership lifecycle, booking workflows and payment reconciliation within Sport, Exercise & Health, with Xplor Legend configured to support digital member services and campus activity access. In 2022 Xplor Legend and myFitApp extended single sign on to the university app, integrating authentication and digital services and increasing engagement from approximately 14,000 to approximately 40,000 app uses per fortnight. The SSO integration linked Xplor Legend user accounts with the broader university app, enabling unified access to bookings, membership status and mobile services, and governance adjustments concentrated on cross system authentication and operational coordination between Sport, Exercise & Health and central digital teams during the rollout.

Kuano Legacy Kuano AI ML and Data Science Platforms AI Development n/a 2025 2025
In 2025, University of Bristol collaborated with Kuano to deploy Kuano AI to run quantum/MM simulations of IRAP in partnership with the Mulholland group, embedding the application directly into research workflows for drug discovery and R&D in the United Kingdom. Kuano AI is positioned within the ML and Data Science Platforms category and was applied to generate mechanistic interpretations that distinguish substrate versus inhibitor selectivity for IRAP. The implementation leveraged Kuano AI capabilities consistent with quantum simulation and generative design, with inferred usage of Kuano's Quantum Lens quantum simulation module and AI driven design modules to translate structural and mechanistic insights into candidate inhibitor architectures. Workflows combined high fidelity quantum/MM simulation outputs with algorithmic design iteration to propose macrocycle inhibitor chemotypes for follow up by medicinal chemistry and structural biology teams. Operationally the deployment focused on the Mulholland research group and adjacent drug discovery researchers at the University of Bristol, supporting collaborative analysis, hypothesis generation, and design handoffs to experimental groups. Governance was research oriented, with the collaboration producing publishable mechanistic insights that informed the design of low micromolar macrocycle inhibitors, demonstrating the system's role in hypothesis driven R&D rather than enterprise transactional processing.
