The Access Group Legacy Access PeopleXD (formerly CoreHR) Core HR HCM n/a 2016 2016
In 2016 the University of Hertfordshire implemented Access PeopleXD (formerly CoreHR) as its Core HR platform, deploying core modules for Personnel, Recruitment including E Recruit, Timesheets and Payroll to support HR and payroll operations across the institution. The deployment emphasized self-service access for academic and professional staff, with the Human Resources team establishing an HR System Strategy and a 12 month roadmap to standardize use of Core HR products and configuration choices. Configuration work included automation of payroll and salary change workflows and deployment of a restructure tool to support organizational changes. The University used the restructure capability to merge two schools and move 518 appointments into a new business unit, an activity that was reported to save 30 minutes of administration per record, totaling 259 hours. Timesheet management was configured for high volume processing, with 6,000 timesheets submitted by visiting lecturers per year, and an online payslip service that grew from 89 percent user adoption to universal delivery via the staff portal. Operational coverage focused on campus HR, payroll and visiting lecturer administration, with the system recording an average of 500 user logins per day and an online expense system that eliminated multiweek reimbursement waits. The University worked with the CoreHR Customer Success team to review implementation decisions, identify inefficiencies and remove manual processes where possible, improving data capture and reporting accuracy. Governance changes included creation of the HR System Strategy, periodic review of configuration choices, and process redesign to shift transactional work out of HR operations. The configuration and workflow adjustments centralized routine HR transactions into Access PeopleXD, enabling HR staff to reallocate effort toward more strategic priorities. Reported outcomes included a large reduction in transactional HR tasks, improved business effectiveness and more accurate data collection and reporting, automated salary change processing that reduced administrative time by three days, continued high user engagement, and streamlined payroll and expense processing through the Access PeopleXD Core HR environment.
