In 2016 The University of Oklahoma implemented Oracle PeopleSoft ERP as its ERP Financial platform. The deployment targeted campus financial operations and procurement functions, aligning the Oracle PeopleSoft ERP installation with institutional accounting and supply chain workflows.
The implementation centered on PeopleSoft Financial Supply Chain capabilities, with configuration and module coverage consistent with ERP Financial needs, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, purchasing, and fixed asset management. Oracle PeopleSoft ERP was configured to support business process automation for requisitions, purchase orders, invoice processing, and month end financial close, while retaining campus-specific chart of accounts and fund accounting structures.
Operational integrations were executed with campus operational systems and human capital records to support finance to HR handoffs and transaction validation, and the deployment worked with engineering and operational IT groups to provide architectural and systems support. The implementation’s operational scope covered central finance offices, procurement teams, and distributed departmental financial users across the University of Oklahoma campus environment.
Governance and runbook responsibilities were assigned to an internal ERP systems organization, where the Director ERP Systems directs and manages PeopleSoft Financial Supply Chain and PeopleSoft Human Capital developers, administrators, and support staff. Operational integration included use of ADP and Workforce alongside PeopleSoft to complete personnel and payroll tasks, supplemented by spreadsheet-driven tracking at the department level. The implementation supported operational coverage for Facilities Management and departmental HR users, with responsibility for reconciling payroll for cohorts of 500 plus employees on a biweekly basis as part of routine payroll close activities.
Governance and process changes centered on department-level initiation of Human Resource transactions while ensuring compliance, confidential handling of personnel records, and centralized onboarding coordination. Daily operational practices documented in the implementation included verification and reconciliation of payroll, processing of new hire and termination paperwork, and delivery of internal time system training for departmental staff.

In 2014, the University of Oklahoma implemented AppWorx Workload Automation as a Business Process Management solution to orchestrate campus batch processing and data integration workflows. The deployment was led by the central Systems Engineering team in Norman, Oklahoma, which had been developing and supporting automation and data integration since 2013.
AppWorx Workload Automation was configured to deliver core workload scheduling and workflow orchestration capabilities, including job dependency sequencing, calendar based scheduling, event driven triggers, parameterized job runs, automated error handling, and centralized logging. The implementation leveraged custom task steps and scripts written in Python, Perl, Bash, and Oracle PL/SQL to extend native orchestration and to encapsulate operational logic.
The technical architecture placed AppWorx on Linux hosts and integrated it with Informatica for ETL orchestration and with Oracle databases for procedural job execution. File movement and integration tasks used FTP, SFTP, SMB, and SCP protocols, with AppWorx invoking Informatica workflows and database procedures as part of end to end data pipelines.
Operational ownership remained with the Systems Engineering group, which managed configuration, job lifecycle governance, and runbook driven operational procedures across academic and administrative functions. The relationship University of Oklahoma AppWorx Workload Automation Business Process Management supported enterprise scheduling, ETL orchestration, and automated data transfer activities across the Norman campus environment.
