In 2017, Valor Holdings implemented IBM Db2 Warehouse on Cloud, deploying a Data Warehouse to centralize sales and membership data for its retail network. The initiative was driven by a new Lu Vit membership and prepaid card program that required linking over 10 billion customer transactions to anonymized customer attributes for segmentation and targeted offers.
Valor Holdings deployed IBM Db2 Warehouse on Cloud, using the MPP Small configuration running on Amazon Web Services, to support high performance analytics and rapid aggregation. The implementation established dedicated data marts for each business line including supermarkets, home centers and drug stores, and leveraged Db2 Warehouse on Cloud capabilities to hold and process large volumes of data in memory for faster query response.
The project migrated historical data from an existing IBM PureData System for Analytics into IBM Db2 Warehouse on Cloud over a ten month period, preserving sales, wholesale and logistics transaction history that totals tens of billions of records. Operational integrations include ingestion of Lu Vit Card transaction feeds and linkage to the company mobile app and online store ecosystem, while Valor Holdings has explored layering IBM Watson APIs on top of the new Data Warehouse for automated analytics and machine learning.
Governance and rollout covered the company’s nationwide retail network, which comprised 778 stores as of September 30, 2017, with IT operations staffed to distribute weekly sales reports to buyers and store managers. The production go live centralized customer spending data across the network, reduced weekly reporting time from between 20 and 30 minutes to two or three minutes representing a 90 percent reduction in reporting duration, and delivered a supported cloud operations model backed by IBM support 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.

| Amazon Web Services (AWS) | Legacy | Amazon EC2 | Application Hosting and Computing Services | IaaS | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019 Valor Holdings Co. deployed Amazon EC2 as part of its Application Hosting and Computing Services footprint to host the company website. The implementation establishes Amazon EC2 as the primary compute tier for public-facing web workloads supporting corporate communications and customer-facing pages in Japan.
The deployment uses pools of EC2 instances provisioned for service continuity, with instance sizing and lifecycle management aligned to web traffic patterns and operational runbooks. Implementation details include standard compute configuration for web application hosting, virtual network segmentation and security group controls to isolate website workloads and enforce access policies.
Operational ownership rests with IT operations and the web operations teams who manage provisioning, image management, and patching workflows through scripted automation and instance tagging for operational traceability. Amazon EC2 provisioning is integrated into existing change control and deployment procedures to govern updates to the website compute layer and to maintain configuration consistency across availability zones.
The narrative focuses on Amazon EC2 under the Application Hosting and Computing Services category, describing compute architecture, operational governance, and the impact on web delivery and IT operations without asserting quantified outcomes.
