In 2009, Vandeputte Group deployed Tradeshift Babelway as a self-service Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) platform. The implementation focused on order-to-cash, finance and supply-chain processes and was executed from Belgium with a pilot connection to Carrefour and broader connections to major retail trading partners. The deployment emphasized partner onboarding and B2B integration workflows to enable business teams to manage trading partner connections and document flows.
Tradeshift Babelway provided mapping and translation, message orchestration, partner onboarding workflows, and monitoring and control capabilities aligned with Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) operations. Operational ownership sat with finance and supply-chain teams handling order-to-cash flows and EDI partner relationships, and the program reportedly reduced EDI costs by around 80 percent while improving onboarding and operational control.
