In 2016, Veolia Water implemented SAP S/4 HANA as an ERP Financial solution across its Australia and New Zealand operations for Environmental Services and Water business activities. The rollout targeted supplier-facing procure-to-pay workflows while explicitly excluding Veolia Water Network Services, Veolia Water Solutions & Technology, and several Veolia Energy business entities listed in the program documentation.
The implementation configured system-generated purchase orders with a single common PO format and unique PO numbering, automated PDF PO confirmations emailed to suppliers, and enforced PO reference validation on invoice processing. SAP S/4 HANA was used to attach unified standard terms and conditions to every purchase order and to centralize supplier master contact verification, reflecting procurement and accounts payable configuration typical of an ERP Financial deployment.
IBM served as the system integrator for the SAP S/4 HANA program and the solution routed purchase order distribution and supplier notifications through Veolia operational email workflows, including a vendor update mailbox for supplier contact verification. Cutover sequencing and transactional controls were defined, with the last payment run under the prior systems scheduled for 19 October 2016 and the new PO reference requirement and unified terms taking effect from 24 October 2016, including a policy that invoices lacking a system generated PO would not be paid after that date.
Governance measures included supplier fact sheets, direct supplier outreach for exemptions and open unpaid goods, and transitional arrangements to reissue POs where required to minimize disruption. Veolia communicated the expectation of minor transitional disruption while committing to limit supplier impact, and structured rollout and supplier support activities to enforce the new SAP S/4 HANA procurement and invoice processing controls.

In 2019, Veolia Water implemented SAP SuccessFactors Compensation as part of a 14 month SAP SuccessFactors initiative across the Australia/New Zealand business, categorized under Compensation Management. The program was managed across multiple enterprise bargaining agreements and multiple payrolls, reflecting a combined local and group release approach for ANZ operations.
The implementation delivered a local release for Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll alongside Recruitment and Onboarding, and a Veolia Group release that supported Talent modules for Performance and Goal Management, Compensation and Variable Pay, Career Development and Succession Planning. SAP SuccessFactors Compensation was configured within that Talent suite to provide centralized compensation planning, variable pay structures, and alignment to performance and goal data.
Operational integration centered on Employee Central and Employee Central Payroll to service multiple payroll engines and EBA-specific payroll rules, with functionality touching HR administration, payroll processing, talent acquisition, performance management, and succession planning. The deployment architecture used Employee Central as the system of record to feed Talent modules and Compensation Management workflows across ANZ.
Governance and rollout followed a staged sequencing model, with a local ANZ release for core HR and payroll capabilities followed by a group-level release for Talent and compensation modules, requiring cross-functional stakeholder coordination across HR, payroll, and talent management teams. The program management structure covered multi-EBA requirements and payroll integrations to ensure consistent compensation and variable pay processes across the Australia/New Zealand footprint.

| Hexagon | Legacy | HxGN EAM (Ex. Infor EAM) | Enterprise Asset Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016, Veolia Water implemented HxGN EAM (Ex. Infor EAM) for Enterprise Asset Management across its Australia and New Zealand operations. The deployment targeted operational management of 68 water and wastewater treatment plants and the stewardship of more than 10 billion dollars worth of assets, centralizing asset registers and maintenance workflows under a single EAM platform.
The HxGN EAM implementation emphasized mobility and improved data capture to support preventive maintenance decision making and regulatory compliance. Field-facing capabilities were configured to allow technicians to record work and asset condition in real time, and the platform was used to raise and manage maintenance work orders, schedule preventive tasks, and improve data integrity for operational and compliance reporting.
Integrations were a core part of the architecture, with a seamless integration layer connecting HxGN EAM to the companys SAP Financials system via 11 interfaces, enabling procurement activities to be initiated directly from the EAM environment without switching systems. The implementation also included third party interfaces to customer systems, enabling inbound data transfer and outbound reporting, and supported a rapid onboarding event where data from a customers systems for 25 water treatment plants was transferred into HxGN EAM and operational control commenced within two months.
Governance and process changes focused on distributed crew management and mobility driven workflows, enabling technicians to make on the fly decisions and maintain more accurate, timely records. The program increased data visibility and integrity for contract performance and regulatory obligations, and established the EAM system as the primary toolset for asset maintenance, repair, and replacement across Veolia Waters technical and operational teams.
