SAP Legacy SAP Travel and Expense Management Expense Management ERP n/a 2010 2010
In 2010, Viacom Inc. implemented SAP Travel and Expense Management as its enterprise Expense Management solution, establishing a global expense reporting backbone for finance and travel accounting functions. SAP Travel and Expense Management was positioned to centralize expense data capture and reporting across Viacom's distributed operations. Configured modules emphasized automated expense reporting, multi level approval workflows, policy compliance enforcement, corporate card reconciliation, and audit reporting. The SAP Travel and Expense Management implementation included configuration for centralized expense itemization and mobile receipt capture to support a geographically dispersed traveler population and to standardize expense validation processes. Viacom rolled out Concur Travel as its online booking tool in the United States in 2015, and in that transition year the company pushed 31 percent of its United States based air bookings through the OBT as touchless transactions. Viacom continues without a designated online booking tool outside the United States, so SAP Travel and Expense Management functions as the global expense reporting system while Concur Travel served as the US booking channel, producing a two tool footprint between travel procurement and expense processing. Governance was structured to centralize expense policy enforcement under the corporate finance organization, with standardized approval workflows and audit reporting configured in SAP Travel and Expense Management. The deployment emphasized consistent expense controls, centralized reporting, and standardized submission and approval processes across Viacom's global finance and travel management functions.

Microsoft Legacy Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) Analytics and BI Analytics and BI n/a 2014 2018
In 2014, Viacom Inc. implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) for Analytics and BI to centralize reporting and ETL workflows that supported Service Management System reporting and division-level, multi-timeframe analysis. The deployment addressed enterprise reporting needs including a migration audit database and operational data integrity checks, using Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) as the core analytics and BI platform for service management and operational analytics. The implementation included a broad set of functional modules and authoring patterns. SQL Server Reporting Services was used to develop matrix, parameterized, drill-through and drill-down reports, charts and dashboard pages, and ad-hoc reporting with complex formulas. SQL Server Integration Services packages were developed and scheduled to move data from OLTP sources into a staging area and onward to a Type 1 data warehouse modeled on a snowflake schema, and SSAS was used to build semantic models and multi-dimensional cubes to support analytical queries. On the database and ETL side the program relied on T-SQL engineering and SQL Server operations, including creation of clustered and non-clustered indexes, filtered indexes, complex stored procedures, views, user defined functions, common table expressions, cursors and triggers to support efficient data manipulation and consistency. SSIS transformations implemented Slowly Changing Dimension logic to preserve historical attributes where required, and SSIS plus T-SQL procedures were the primary integration pattern between OLTP systems, staging, and the data warehouse. The migration audit database and reporting layers were instrumented to enable automated data integrity comparisons between source and target datasets. Governance and operational controls were formalized through SSRS administration and SQL Server agent automation, with jobs, alerts, SQL Mail Agent notifications and scheduled SSIS package execution to regulate report delivery and ETL cadence. Reporting history tracking and scheduled report execution were administered through the SSRS interface to manage distribution and auditability. The implementation explicitly supported operational reporting, migration auditing, and data integrity validation workflows without introducing external implementation partner references.
