In 2011 Vietnam Maritime Bank (MSB) began deployment of Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial platform. The initiative targeted consolidation of core finance functions across the bank, with a technical project team of roughly 50 staff focused on system build, customization and handover to production support. The program emphasized bank-grade availability and WAN-optimized access for distributed branch connectivity.
Oracle E-Business Suite was configured to deliver core ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury management workflows, supplemented by bank-specific form and report customization. Development and reporting work used Oracle Developer Suite tools such as Form Builder, Report Builder, XML Publisher and PL/SQL Developer to tailor screens and financial statements to MSB business processes.
The technical architecture deployed IBM-hosted Linux application servers running Oracle EBS 11.5.10 backed by Oracle Database, implemented in a web tree-tier model. In 2021, Vietnam Maritime Bank (MSB) implemented Temenos T24 as its Core Banking platform. The Temenos T24 deployment focused on Retail and Corporate banking to support MSB's approximately 3.1 million retail customers and 64,300 corporate customers.
The implementation activated Temenos core banking functionality for Retail and Corporate banking, with explicit configurations for Payments, Analytics and Data Lake capabilities to centralize transactional and behavioral data. Temenos T24 was provisioned on Temenos open platform for composable banking, enabling modular services and API-driven orchestration across core banking domains. Functional emphasis included account lifecycle management, transaction processing, product configuration and analytics-driven customer segmentation to support hyper-personalized experiences.
Architecturally the program used the open platform model and a centralized data lake to unify payments flows and analytics, positioning Payments and Analytics as integrated capabilities within the Core Banking environment. The composable architecture allowed MSB to configure modules independently and automate retail and corporate workflows to accelerate new product provisioning.
Program governance mapped to MSB's five-year digital roadmap, with objectives to increase automation, improve customer experience and reduce operating costs. Temenos regional expertise in Vietnam, reflected by more than 20 local banking clients, supported deployment practices and operational handover.
