Oracle Legacy Oracle E-Business Suite ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2011 2012
In 2011 Vietnam Maritime Bank (MSB) began deployment of Oracle E-Business Suite as its ERP Financial platform. The initiative targeted consolidation of core finance functions across the bank, with a technical project team of roughly 50 staff focused on system build, customization and handover to production support. The program emphasized bank-grade availability and WAN-optimized access for distributed branch connectivity. Oracle E-Business Suite was configured to deliver core ERP Financial capabilities, including general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable and treasury management workflows, supplemented by bank-specific form and report customization. Development and reporting work used Oracle Developer Suite tools such as Form Builder, Report Builder, XML Publisher and PL/SQL Developer to tailor screens and financial statements to MSB business processes. The technical architecture deployed IBM-hosted Linux application servers running Oracle EBS 11.5.10 backed by Oracle Database, implemented in a web tree-tier model. Infrastructure designs incorporated clustering and a mega WAN network topology to centralize transaction processing while providing resilient connectivity to branch sites, reflecting a multi-tier Oracle DB and application stack for centralized posting and reconciliation. Operational governance assigned senior technical resources to application development, business support and production issue resolution, with explicit tasks for form and report maintenance and ongoing system support. The Oracle E-Business Suite implementation established a centralized ERP Financial backbone for Vietnam Maritime Bank (MSB), with technical controls and support workflows to manage configuration, customizations and operational incidents.
