In 2016, Mid-State Paving & Excavation implemented Viewpoint ProContractor Estimating in a deployment focused on core Construction Estimating functions. The project consolidated estimating, job-cost accounting and payroll workflows under a single application to centralize bid preparation and financial tracking for the contractor. Viewpoint ProContractor Estimating was configured to address three explicit modules, estimating, job-cost accounting and payroll, with the payroll configuration including Davis-Bacon reporting capability. The implementation emphasized faster bid turnaround and tighter work-in-progress visibility by bringing estimating templates, cost databases and job-cost transactions into the ProContractor application. Operationally the rollout covered estimating, job costing and payroll process areas across the US Northeast, and involved migration of data and processes from QuickBooks and spreadsheet-based workflows into the ProContractor environment. Business functions impacted included estimating, project accounting and payroll operations, and the program delivered faster payroll processing, improved WIP visibility and more accurate bidding as stated by the customer.
