In 2012 Villeroy & Boch Group implemented Serrala FinanceSuite as an AP Automation solution to address accounts payable workflows and cash allocation within the order to cash cycle. The Serrala FinanceSuite deployment was positioned to interface with SAP finance components and to centralize electronic remittance processing across the company's finance organization.
The implementation integrated Serrala FinanceSuite with core SAP FI modules including AP, AR, GL and asset accounting, and extended into SAP FI Treasury and In House Cash capabilities. Configuration work included company code configuration, intercompany posting rules, chart of accounts alignment, posting key and document type setup, payment terms and payment program configuration, tolerance groups and reason codes, and AR and AP master data harmonization.
Technical integration leveraged ABAP development for custom mappings and IDOC handling, plus Hanse Orga AutoBank patterns for bank connectivity and automated bank statement processing. Supported bank statement formats and import mechanisms reflected SAP treasury practices, including MT940 and MT942, CAMT053 and CAMT054, CODA, ETEBAC AFB120 and BAI2, and remittance advice automation via IDOC REMADV and EDI820 flows to reconcile incoming payments.
Operational scope covered finance, treasury and order to cash functions within Villeroy & Boch Group in Germany, with governance changes that included substitution and validation rules, automated clearing and automatic account assignment logic in controlling and cost allocation. Serrala FinanceSuite was configured to operate alongside SAP CO processes such as cost center and profit center accounting, and to support cash concentration and liquidity forecast patterns through integration with SAP In House Cash and treasury posting routines.
