In 2016, Vinci Energies implemented Serrala FinanceSuite as an AP Automation platform, aligning the program with its SAP Technologies and Innovation agenda around S/4 HANA and machine learning to automate reconciliation workflows. The deployment was framed as a bank security and cash operations initiative, with Serrala FinanceSuite selected through a feasibility study and formal selection process that evaluated FS2 Serrala capabilities.
Serrala FinanceSuite was configured to serve as a single banking tool and to automate customer reconciliation processes, with explicit implementation of SAP Cash Application as part of the solution set. Functional scope covered banking connectivity, cash application automation, and accounts payable automation workflows, leveraging category aligned capabilities for payment processing orchestration and automated matching of customer payments.
Integrations were executed with SAP platforms, including SAP S/4HANA and the implemented SAP Cash Application, and coordination occurred with the Serrala add on editor during integration testing. Operational coverage included deployments in Germany and Brazil, with the Germany rollout of the new banking solution spanning 15 legal entities, and the solution supporting treasury, collections, payments, and AP operational teams.
Project governance emphasized structured stakeholder engagement and operational readiness, with workshops to collect requirements, an organizing committee to steer tests, coordination of test cycles, training facilitation for change management, and organized knowledge transfer. | SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA HCM Payroll | Payroll | HCM | n/a | 2017 | 2018 |
In 2017 VINCI Energies implemented SAP S/4 HANA HCM Payroll to consolidate HR payroll and time management as part of a broader SAP S/4HANA deployment. The SAP S/4 HANA HCM Payroll implementation was positioned within a single SAP client architecture to provide a unified Payroll platform across the group, supporting approximately 31,000 users and covering 660 companies and 1,800 business units across 13 countries.
The implementation encompassed the HR time and payroll functional area, with configuration for mobile time capture via SAP Fiori applications and a SAP CoPilot proof of concept to enable voice driven purchase request creation for field workers. SAP Leonardo components were used to automate back office processes, achieving high levels of automation for accounts receivable clearing in targeted markets, and embedded analytics was enabled to surface payroll related insights.
Architecturally the Payroll deployment ran on an in memory HANA core with a single table approach to reduce reconciliations, and it integrated into a larger landscape that included SAP Cloud Platform, SAP C4HANA and SAP Service Cloud, SAP Analytics Cloud for reporting, an e invoicing platform and middleware supporting more than 300 interfaces. The project was supported by SAP Digital Business Services during conversion and leveraged SAP Fiori 2.0 for user interface modernization and mobile worker enablement.
Governance and process changes centered on harmonizing core business processes and a single chart of accounts to enforce one version of truth for Payroll and adjacent finance functions. Explicit outcomes reported include a single SAP client deployment, drastic reduction in reporting time with quarterly reporting accelerated by a factor described in project materials and operational improvements such as fewer than 300 reconciliation errors, widespread mobile timesheet adoption for blue collar workers and centralized payroll processing across multiple lines of business.

| SAP | Legacy | SAP S/4 HANA - Plant Maintenance (PM) | Plant Maintenance | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2017 | 2018 |
In 2017, Vinci Energies implemented SAP S/4 HANA - Plant Maintenance (PM) as part of a company-wide consolidation of maintenance and enterprise processes within the Plant Maintenance category. The SAP S/4 HANA - Plant Maintenance (PM) deployment was executed on a single SAP S/4HANA digital core to support harmonization across more than 660 companies and 1,800 business units spanning 13 countries, consolidating roughly 31,000 business users into one SAP client and a single in-memory database.
The implementation included core ERP modules such as FI, CO, PS, HR, time and payroll, SD, MM, CS, PP, and PM, with Plant Maintenance capabilities configured to support field operations and plant asset workflows. Mobile SAP Fiori applications were delivered to capture worker timesheets and project costs, while SAP CoPilot and SAP Leonardo machine learning were trialed for voice-driven purchase request creation and automation of account receivables processes.
Architecture and integrations were organized around SAP S/4HANA 1709 FPS01 on HANA 2.0, SAP NetWeaver and SAP Fiori 2.0, with SAP Cloud Platform used for extension and mobile apps. The landscape incorporated SAP C/4HANA and SAP Service Cloud for customer interaction, SAP Analytics Cloud for embedded analytics and visualization, and a middleware layer of more than 300 interfaces to connect existing applications and external systems.
Governance and process transformation focused on a single data model and one chart of accounts to enforce consistent definitions, reduce reconciliation work, and streamline global processes. VINCI Energies updated its ERP portal to an action-oriented interface, instituted end-to-end processes for customer requests, cash application and supplier invoice management, and centralized operational rules to reduce discrepancies across finance and controlling tables.
Outcomes cited in the program include a single SAP client serving 31,000 users, a 98 percent reduction in time required to create quarterly reports equivalent to 600 hours saved per month, a reduction of thousands of table discrepancies to under 300, and near 80 percent automation for accounts receivable clearing in Belgium, Germany and the Netherlands. SAP Digital Business Services supported the conversion, and the program included proofs of concept for SAP CoPilot and cash application automation as part of the wider Plant Maintenance and enterprise rollout.
