The ERP Financial deployment was executed as a technical upgrade covering modules FI, CO, AA, PS, IM, SD, MM, PP, ABAP, and BASIS across the United States, Mexico, and Canada, with project leadership active from August 2012 through May 2013.
The SAP ERP ECC 6.0 implementation targeted core finance and logistics workflows, configuring financial accounting and controlling processes alongside asset accounting and project systems capabilities. Functional workstreams included order-to-cash and procure-to-pay sequencing, inventory valuation and material planning, production planning integration points, and ABAP adjustments to support country-specific requirements.
The technical footprint included BASIS administration and ABAP development streams to manage transports, code remediation, and system stabilization during the upgrade, enabling cross-module transaction consistency between finance, sales, materials, and production functions. The deployment was structured to align technical and functional teams in different locations, emphasizing coordinated cut-over activities and system-level change control.
Governance was centralized under a project director role responsible for resource allocation, workload balancing, schedule and milestone tracking, quality assurance, issue and risk management, change control, stakeholder communication, team scaling, and project closure. Volkswagen Group of America SAP ERP ECC 6.0 ERP Financial implementation documented the multi-country rollout and control discipline required for concurrent technical and functional upgrades across finance and operational domains.

| Informatica | Legacy | Informatica Product 360 | Product Information Management | eCommerce | n/a | 2016 | 2016 |
In 2016 Volkswagen Group of America implemented Informatica Product 360 as a Product Information Management platform to support dealer performance monitoring for Audi dealers across the USA and Canada. The program operated from the Saint Louis Park, MN site beginning April 2017 and focused on ingesting and standardizing source files to support analytics and data mart consumption.
The implementation emphasized ETL and data model work, including the design of audit tables to track file arrivals and Informatica ETL flows to load source files into a PSA area. Informatica Product 360 was configured with reusable mappings and mapplets to standardize processes, and those reusable components reduced project development time by more than 1000 hours. Mappings implemented slowly changing dimensions Type 1, Type 2, and Type 3, constraint based loading and explicit target load ordering to support consistent product and dealer data models.
Integration and runtime architecture combined Informatica PowerCenter 9.5 and 9.1.0, Informatica PIM and DAM integrations with third party DAMs such as Celum, Adobe, or OpenText as required, and source systems including DB2 9.5, Oracle 11g and flat files. Operational automation used Unix shell scripts, PMCMD commands, JILs and TWS for scheduling, plus email notifications for job success and failure, delta load orchestration, archival COPY operations and Data Movement Control for reconciliation and error handling. Cloud computing was referenced to provide remote data access and storage for downstream consumers.
Governance followed Agile Scrum practices using Version One, with formal HLD, TDD and mapping documentation, Power Designer logical and physical data models, and a development package containing SCM data and deployment guides. Quality and release controls included HP Quality Center for defect tracking, code review artifacts and an upgrade path from Informatica 9.1.0 to 9.5. The implementation of Informatica Product 360 for Product Information Management therefore combined PIM configuration, ETL orchestration, DAM connectivity and formal Agile governance to deliver a standardized dealer performance data capability.
